What you revealed only caused an uproar in your forums. It was not a “heads up”. It was a horrible approach at teasing balance. This is the reason many overreact in your community on the forums.

You just outright made a fire over poor communication. There is still no word of split balance. No one knows how hard the nerfs will hit. You basically have four days of worrying, and your community being kittened off at you. Many will lose hope over said changes, and will quit, or take a needed break from the game.

I just hate the way you treat your playerbase. I expect this thread to be deleted, but it’s worth venting.

I’ve never seen devs act like this. The sheer lack of communication is shocking.

Hoping for maybe a bit more info before the patch. We really need it.

Please.

To be fair to OP:

If the point of the forum post was to prepare players to change gear, it failed, because we don’t know the extent of the changes.

If the point of the post was to get feedback, well, it certainly did that

I would think the intention was not “Change your gear right now to X!”. Rather, its more a cautionary statement along the lines of “If you’re considering changing your gear to match one of these popular builds, you should consider waiting until the patch hits to see what’s changed before you do so”.

It seems obvious to me that this is what they intended.

That’s certainly how I took it. I’ve been sitting on 7 or so exotic Viper’s gear boxes until I could get around to researching which alt would gain the most benefit from them. I had been leaning towards giving them to my Druid (who got benched after the raid meta changed to Druid Viper right after I spent my resources making her Magi per the raid training group guidelines). Now, well, I shall see what Viper most suits after the dust settles from this change.

I am grateful for the heads up. I took it as a reason to not re-equip any of my characters until after the update drops. I wouldn’t mind more extensive information but I will take what was given over no heads up at all.
