Why there are still hobosacks
I wear a slickpack over mine. ’tis perfect.

I like the looks of the kit backpacks (if that’s what we’re talking about) and none of my engineers are homeless grubs. It is a bit rough having the weapons vanish into thin air though.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

Same here. The way the flamethrower backpack clips with it looks good, feel like it’s a complete model, IMHO.
BTW, the dissapearing weapons is a pet peeve of mine on all games I’ve played that allow for weapon swap. Long time ago I was playing Age of Conan, with a sword/sword – greatsword barbarian… the game glitched and I switched to dual swords and the greatsword still showed in my back…. now I wish it was like that all the time in all games, if I switch weapons I’d like to see the previous weapons sheathed, in the case of engineers, for example, when I switch to a kit I’d like to see the pistols on the hips, or the rifle on my back (under the kid backpack, for example). Shields would be trickier, though.
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

All it would take to make me happy with the Hobosack, is an option to never stow weapons.
It’s part of the list of items that were promised months ago that we haven’t seen. I have no idea what the delay could be, especially in this case where it’s a simple ui element option change that allows you to turn them off in the settings. Really not that hard to code according to my programmer friends.
But being an Engineer main, I’m seeing a pattern of delays to any concerns Engineers have on anything really.

I like to imagine that when that dev “promised” to do something about it, what he literally did was write a note on a kittentail napkin which he then set his drink on. The drink sweat dripped down and smeared the ink. The janitor threw the kittentail napkin away that night. The next day the dev looked around thinking “crap where did that note go… Oh well I’ll make a mental note.” and then he went home and watched sports center. By the end of the week he had forgotten all about it. Fast forward to today. The end.

This happens while talking to a buddy the buddy starts talking about things that he doesn’t like when he plays the engineer class not because he likes to but because he has to because it’s his job to (since there’s no one else who’s an advocate and likes the class working there) They drink the beer that the napkin was sitting on while talking about things that aren’t an issue at all, while ignoring the forums entirely, they put together things that they shouldn’t change but want to because they think it’s fun.
Thus the change to Kit Refinement was born.
#NoHobo2014 <—-We’re already going on 6 months into the year. I want no kit or back pack at all. I want to use Wings or any of the other nice back items all the other professions get to use.
It adds nothing to the game. I mean, I’ve played an engineer for over a hundred hours, and I’ve never stared at another engineer’s hobosack to note what kit they’re using. I can’t even say I can tell bomb or grenade apart if you suddenly told me.
“Omg those things are in the air, it must be grenades”
“Omg it that gun is farting, it must be elixir gun”
“Stuff on the ground exploding, it must be bomb kit”
I can imagine it makes even less sense to non-engineers, who just laugh at the lack of style
Hobosacks help no one. Toss them away.
This game has a large component about aesthetic progression. Or did you forget? Do you not want people spending more money on the gemstore? In fact, why don’t you just take a few dollars out of your wallet and light it on fire? It’s the same thing really.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
The sooner they get rid of or give an option to remove hobosacks and let us use normal back pieces the happier I will be.
I actually like the backpacks, but I’m just silly…

Ye there are more than 8 thousand replies on the engi forum from which there should be at least a thousand good reasons why they should be removed
also the idea is not to remove them completely but to make a botton or something that lets you display it if you like it (for people like you) or to make them “invisible” and to be able to show our legendaries or equipment.
