Why turning big boss events into speed-runs ?

Hi!

After spending some time in sparkly fen, i see new Tequatl event as a speed-run, in fact, all big bad boss events are now essentially speed-runs – because of the time limit.
Granted, some of them might still be easy, until being reworked.

But with speed-runs, only important thing is maximum efficiency.
That’s why catstorm in map chat and forums.
People want to pull others from turrets, want to kick afk-ers.
Some of them, i am sure, have dirty fantasies about kicking all rangers from map, because their pets are dead most of time,
and of course necros should be kicked too, because things they do are just disgusting.

What happened to “Meeting other player in game is always a good thing” ?

Do players really want to meet in new Tequatl event:
players too “young” to understand mechanics,
players too “old” to dodge properly,
lunatics like me, who does not follow meta or whatever it is called and does not have optimal dps build and equipment ?

Come on, people even stopped ressing each other, they have no time.

And the problem is not even difficulty of event, but timer. Why not remove it and let people shoot dragon for hour and pay half gold in repairs?
Hey, make it even more difficult, just without time limit.

Maybe i am just wrong, because this content is not meant for players like me, like dungeons and fractals ?
But, on the other hand, i was doing these boss events just fine for year, were they bugged or temporary ?

If it is so, game for at least some players is becoming much smaller.

P.S. Sorry for my english

Rangers are absolutely awesome at defending turrets and batteries, and also, because of your pet rez (#3 downed skill), you die a lot less frequently, meaning you’re up doing damage more often.

Anyone who would want to get rid of rangers has probably not played one.

Um….buddy….you do know that before the patch, most bosses went down within 30 seconds right?

And you say that players don’t want to “meet” now? Before the patch I just zoned in, got my kill in 30 seconds, and zoned out. Now I’m getting on Mumble with 100 other people to down a challenging boss. Did you even ever do boss fights before this patch?

If anything, this patch eliminated speed runs, and bettered communities. I mean look at all the community pride posts in these forums from players who have downed teq.

I agree that bosses need rework.

In forums i see different community, hardcore vs casuals, asking for ability to remove people from turrets and kicking afk-ers. In map chat i have seen casuals blamed for not dps-ing right way. They even may be right that casual players does not do enough damage to succeed in this event.
So what to do now? Guilds who want to complete event need some way to get rid of casuals/randoms not only because of their performance in event but also to get their own people in, bettering community right there…
For example, organizing in one overflow or low pop server.

And all this because of time-limit or dps-check or whatever you call it, IMHO.
