Why was a salvari chosen to be on the Login screen of the client. On the right side, and like a van go type art work. Just curious why not Charr or Human etc. Also who is she?

Not sure why, but it is Caithe. Most likely because Sylvari is the newest race though.

yep, used to love that screen, so elegant. Current launcher is pants.

Granted, an option to customize/change the background on the login screen would be a neat little thing. But, who cares that much about that anyway? For me, the login screen is just part of the process I go through in order to play the game. I won’t be thinking “Brambles, I wish I could’ve changed the image of the login screen” while i’m off killing baddies and gathering stuff I’m after.

Besides, Caithe is pretty cool, for the most part.

I love the loading screen. But I agree there’s no need to be complaining. I have auto-play on, so I see it for about 10 seconds if that…

Because Sylvari are getting pushed down your throat from every corner of the main story and the living stories.

Because the launcher contains news and gemstore advertisements generally, so that’s why it was changed.

Sylvari as a race have been linked to the dragon’s awakening. I don’t know why you’d need more reason than that.

This is the Sylvari’s story.
Gw1 was about the humans and Gw2 is all about the Sylvari with extra bits about other races.

Huh? Sylvari rollout was a surprise. Perhaps the player “input” was OMG ELVESES PLZ!! Cause that is what they got. Plant elves. I guess that is “new” although plant born Fae been around a while too.

Also “Maverick” (not “mavarick”) and “Van Gogh” (not “Van Go”, which is kind of hilarious)!

My belief is that it’s Caithe; story relevance and newest and most original race used in the game (kind of, at least vs. races present in GW1). Plus it’s a pretty cool piece.
