Salute

Is it possible to add ingame settings for left/right/front/backward dodge? It will be very useful for players with mmo-mouses like razer naga and could save a little time in pvp battles.

Please no more Wowstar in my Guild Wars… The orange swatches are enough.

You know you dodge in whatever direction you happen to be moving when you press the key right? Is that not enough?

Yes, just doubleclick the direction key and you will dodge that direction.

Yeah, you can already dodge to any direction you want, and you can bind a key to dodge (the default is “V”).

As Xenon said, just press the direction you want to go using “WASD” and press the dodge, or even double tap the direction.

I don’t even have that turned on. I WASD to move and press E to dodge in the direction I happen to be going. Sometimes I change directions on a dime if need be. It’s easy.

I use WASD as well and find it easy just to double-tap whichever key I happen to be pressing, just a matter a preference.

I also turn double-tab off, I like JPs and double-tap on = death so many times.
I bind “v” to a mouse button, I let there because it makes easier to dodge-jump with the “v” as the dodge button.

Pro-tip: bind your dodge to your Mouse 3 or 4 button and remove the double tap to dodge option. I still have V for dodge, but only for the occasional jump dodge.

I’ve bound dodge to my Mouse 3 and Skill slot 7 to Mouse 4. For Slot 7 I always have my stun breaker like “Shake it off!” or a cleanse. The number of times that I’ve saved myself by insta-popping off SIO! when I’ve been knocked back by harpies in the Uncategorised fractal platforms are too numerous to count.

Be warned that the logical option, making a macro that makes a certain mouse button perform double-taps for dodging, isn’t allowed by ArenaNet’s macro policy.

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

… what? You just bind dodge to a mouse button in the menu. Why would you ever want to bind double tap to a mouse button? Why would you even want to use double tap period, all it does is ruin your experience. Jump puzzles for example become impossible, you’ll dodge all over the place like a drunk hippo.

Also, you dodge in the direction you’re moving in. If you dodge while standing still you do it backwards. Easy to dodge sideways/front from standing still as well, just use WAD.

Dodge jump is ok from Anet and “working as intended”.
