As the title says, i wonder if Anet will eve come out with a race change potion. I have an 80 Charr ranger that I just don’t like the looks of, no matter what gear I have. I would love to be able to switch to a different race, as I cant seem to make myself play the character since I hate the look of him.

honestly, its almost this fact alone that keeps me from playing GW2 a lot more. I rarely log in more than once a week now because I don’t want to start any new characters, I want to stay on this character.

I don’t see this happening. Way too much of your personal story is tied up to your race.

I very much doubt it. Since the personal story is tied to your race it would create all kinds of problem to have a race change feature.

Ehh, it seems like a race change is a really important missing feature, whether or not it messes with the story. Why can’t the system just transfer your current mission to the equivalent mission of that race and assume you made a certain set of choices? It would be jarring, but if you really care, you could catch up by reading your journal.

Besides, by the time you join one of the Orders, your race doesn’t affect anything.

It doesn’t take that long to make a new level 80.

Or they could just start your personal story back at level 1. It’s not like you get much XP for doing a level 1 personal story at level 80 anyway.

@Florgknight why would someone make a new human thief when they already have a level 80 charr thief? It’s completely pointless and you waste all the karma and gear you earned on your other character.

Race change is a key feature of modern MMO’s. It needs to be there.

I don’t know many mmos that have this feature. I can think of only one that has it.

I would be in a world of hurt if they did. I have a hard enough time deciding and wanting to change later on anyway that I would spend coin hand over first constantly changing races!
