Around the time blizzard launches there next expansion? I really hope so being that this game I feel has put a huge dent in Wow it just seems like a good strategy maybe huge update? Another expansion? Maybe raids for the masses what’s your thoughts?

WoW is the 800 lb (362.874 kg) Gorilla. When it puts out an expansion, LOTS of players will jump over to try it out, remembering their enjoyable days in that game. Putting out anything big in another game at that time is asking for bad numbers.

Now, a couple months after a WoW expansion hits, you start to see people bored with it, or unhappy for other reasons. THAT is when you send out something big in another game, so that those people will jump over. And, as they may still be talking with their refound WoW friends, they might sell them on jumping over as well.

Given our experience with the last ‘expansion’, I sincerely hope not.

Given the current state of affairs any planning that’s being done, should be double checked as the last set of planning for HoT seems to have gone rear up.

Like most half decent companies Anet have never bothered to chase the competition or try to put out competing releases at the exact same time. It’s highly unlikely they’d change that now.

Especially since GW2 has no subscription it would actually be better for them to let players come and go as they originally intended and release things when they’re ready instead of trying to rush to match someone else’s schedule.

meh dont care bout wow expansion, do hope anet starts on season 3 LS soon though

Just seems like they would doesn’t have to be an expansion maybe new patch some new maps I don’t know but I feel this game has hurt wow greatly why not keep chipping away lol

And everytime a new MMO hits, they say the same thing … see you later. And we do because a number of players who leave to go play the new shinny MMO quickly gets tired of the old school BS MMO systems that GW2 got away from. This has been said about WildStar, ESO, Archeage Neverwinter as well as previous expansions to WoW.

And as others have said, the subscription free nature of this game almost acknowledges the fact players stray from one MMO to another when they burnout. So no, ANet won’t do anything HUGE simply to go up against the WoW expansion launch. But once players burn themselves out over there, GW2 will still be here to welcome them back.

Maybe a sub model for the P4F accounts :P

Play For Free Accounts + Original accounts (without the x-pack):

They could cheer GW2 HoT succeful release and offer even the p4f accounts+Original , unlimited accesss to HoT + Living story for 1,5 months (to show them the sweetness of the 2 week Living Story period+dont loose them to other F2P games)

Afterwards If they choose to buy 400 gems(spend 5 euros) ,their Account is Upgraded to miniBlueWhales , for 1,5 months !
They have access to any expanion+nonexpansion map/Living Story/Raid/50+LvL Fractals (not flying althought)

Each time , they spend 5 euros, a bar will be filled . After 7 payments , their P4F account will be Upgraded into an Original (just before any other games x-pack – which will give them a little attackment to GW2 that way) which they will be able to Convert Gold>Gems . They will need another 7 payments with real money , to reach HoT and its ingame rewards it offers (Cosmetic gear)

Any Elite Class that is accompanied with each expanion ( like the Revenant) + Elite Specs like the Scrapper , can be played buy those P4F accounts for 1.5 month , but If they start playing those 2 options (or go in any map9old-new)+ Raids+WvWvW) , , their character with be ’’cloacked’’ with a ‘’Ugly Outfit’’ (in the case of Revenant they cannot choose its Race or Look=some ungly as @@) + Their Spell’s animations will be stack on the Lowest Graphix(and even any new spell introduced with each x-pack) + they dont get the pleasure to get the future x-packs most beautiful cosmetic items + reward tracks

Each passing year , they can can crank up the Sub by 1 euro (max 8 euros) and with the 1.5 month Sub duration it will be a ‘’DPS race’’ between games :P
