My friend wants to give me a legendary, but would Anet ban me if he mails it to me?

I don’t see any reason why you would be banned for a friend sending you anything, even a legendary.

You sound a bit suspicious to be honest. But no, unless as said above, you’re paying for your legendary and Anet will be able to prove such a thing.

Just make sure the Legendary in question wasn’t obtained anywhere along its journey to you by ill-gotten/nefarious means.

Thena gain if your “friend” just became you friend 2 days ago, you’ve had no prior interaction with his account and/or his account (or yours) is already under suspicion things might be different.

I once got banned for receiving thousands of golds from legit players and sending out thousands of golds to legit players. Anet may ban you and talk later.

We built a Legendary a while ago for our Guild Leader, so we all gifted mats and gold
to one person who built it and then sent it to our leader. Was all absolutely no problrm

i made incinerator for my friend as a christmas surprise last year and mailed it. So go ahead you will be ok.

If the serial number has been scratched off the Legendary then I would reconsider. Also you should take it to a Weapon smith to validate it’s authenticity. A lot of fake Legendary’s are floating around.
