I will likely play less than before and a lot less than I intended to, but not because they nerfed the champ train. I’ll have to see what ArenaNet does about the complaints regarding the patch. I expect we may have to wait a bit on a reply from them, so I will probably play something else until then.

I was really excited about the changes, but I made the mistake of not reading too much about them. I’ve logged for a bit since the patch hit, and that excitement is gone and replaced with disappointment. I don’t expect ArenaNet to do much about the questions raised by the players, so I guess I will take yet another break from the game.

I’ll be playing more probably.

1) Use to play a fair amount of time in WvW on several character. Its nice to have my WvW level unlock account wide.
2) Like to do dungeon with my friend, and i’ll continue to do so. Nothing really changed there.
3) I always love sPvP, but in my guild we were only 2-3 ppl playing in this game mode. Now, with the new reward system, a lot of my friend want to play more sPvP, which is nice. Its also nice to have better reward, when playing in sPvP. Reward that can be use in PvE, WvW or sPvP.
4) I’m a completionist. That freaking stupid some time and I know i waste a lot of time for no apparent reason, but I like doing that. I know I’m gonna spend so much gold and time to get as much skins to fill up my Wardrobe, and that I’m gonna LOVE that.
5) The schedule for the lesser to moderate World Boss will help me to setup better World Boss Train for my guild and anybody that want to follow.

But I’m not totally blind. I happen to love the stuff that anet made better, but no really care about the stuff that Anet just broke. Never was interested into Town Clothes, but I would be kitten off if I was. I do Teq, Triple Wurm and Karka Queen on a regular basis and I’ll probably will be able to do Teq and Karka queen during the weekend more easily, but I will only have 1 chance to kill those with my schedule, and with the price of the consumable to spawn them, I think its just ridiculous. Even if I did a bit of champ train, I always hate doing that, but that doesn’t mean that other ppl should stop doing that just because I don’t want to do it. And a lot of little stuff are just irritating. Like the fact that you can’t just transmute your Runes from one gear to another, the fact that boons duration Rune are almost useless now, awkward trait selection where you have to go from left to right to select each of you trait, a really basic and cheap UI to select bettween Equipment, Wardrobe and Dye, the fact that you can’t preview Dye from the Wardrobe in your bank when you want to preview armor that you don’t have yet (you can do it with skin that you already have, not those that you may want), etc.

Overall, for me this patch was a good things, but a lot of people get screwed over by it and its just sad, because most of these are change that wasn’t necessary AT ALL. They did good and bad change and I hope are figure out, which change were bad and work hard to fix them. Because right now, Anet made angry a good proportion of the player base (even if I’m not one of those personally, only because the bad change don’t affect my the way I play).

Really? This game launched in 2012, and when it did there were no champ trains. None at all.

Does it ever occur to some of you that when the champ trains being what they became, ANet never intended for people to just log on and run in a huge circle around Queensdale for 18 hours a day. Literally fighting with those people who were not in the train for taking down the Oak out of turn?

That Champ Train in Queensdale was vile, vile and childish in many ways. Perhaps not every day they weren’t, but most times they were. If you were no in that Champ train, then YOU were not allowed to touch anyone of those champs or else a huge fight sparked.

ArenaNet did not intended for this to happen. Now people are gonna complain because it’s been nerfed?

Does anyone every grow up?

The wife popped three (3) ABYSS DYES last night out of her 350+ dyes while I never even got one out of my 600 dyes.

I think we only had about 160-ish duplicates between us. We’re pretty good about not using a lot of duplicates across our various chars, unless we absolutely must have some color on more than one. We tend to drop them in our guild vault for everyone to use.

I bought abyss a few days ago. Popped one from my unid’s and gave it to the husband since he didn’t have it. Only took us a couple of hours going back and forth, and dropped some into the forge to roll the dice on. We got a good chuckle out of it though.

I look forward to skin hunting, and unlocking the profession starter gears. Even (looking forward to) farming the necessary gold to buy all the armor skins off the gemstore. I should probably have my sanity checked….

Gold drops from champs have been dropped from 3-5s to 1-3s….
Is that really that big of a nerf? – I don’t this its even worth mentioning.

Most players make money from champ boxes by getting T6 mats and not the actual gold drop.

Also world bosses seem much easier to me, last night with few players than usual, we went on to kill bosses that usually require a much higher population….how is this possible? Bosses now properly scale.

Lets talk about dailies….
Grinding them was the most boring part of the game and I stopped doing that a long while back, I am actually happy to see the reduction.

What should you be upset with instead?
New content is what is really needed, something like Underworld, Fissure of Woe, Domain of Anguish, Deep, Urgoz Warren….
Those elite areas were so amazing, rewarding are still not part of this game….

Will I still play the game?
Yes, most changes made the game better. In fact it has given me goals to acquire a full set of wardrobe and much more.

As much as I’m dying for Elona, Cantha and all other amazing places of Tyria to be unlocked, i intend to play gw2 for as long as i have at least some things to do in the game, all in hope that one day soon, I’ll see all those nostalgic places from it’s predecessor. It’s just a matter of time imo.

Tyria is HUGE people, what we got so far is a tiny spec of the world and this last update is certainly laying a nice core foundation for the game.

Being B2P game, the content we want may not be rolling out as fast as we would like but it’s still the best value/quality-for-money MMO out there imo.

Perhaps a bit more monetary support wouldn’t hurt to speed up the process of getting what most of us are waiting for….one huge opening of Tyria! Here’s hoping and to back it up i’ll be spending a bit more money in the shop again soon.

I do get tired of ppl accusing Anet of greed really. It just isn’t justified imo, although the BLC locked skins do kinda point in that direction, but in the end, they are just skins and completely voluntary. Unlike some free games that lock everything behind cash shop, including areas maps, instances, QoL stuff etc. Anet basically gives us all those things for free, when really they could do the same.

So yea, though it took me a while, i’m totally attached to my chars now and hope to play gw2 for as long it’s running.

As to those crying about the precision nerf, and the champ loot box nerf…. How it " got rid of My playstyle."

Anet never promised you, that once you got a " Playstyle" none of it’s changes to the game… was gonna affect it. If your playstyle was affected by developers nerfing something…chances are… they did not consider your playstyle…" playing the game as intended."

That basically means… get a new playstyle.

Not a fan on capping the achievements, once that was announced that killed a lot of the fun factor in collecting them and devalued them personally. Once you limit things you start to define their end. Still have a lot of things to try. Hoping for more future varied traits now that they have a base architecture in place.

Yes, I will be playing less. Really has nothing to do with the patch, although I had a guildmate who finally got fed up with ANet thrashing old content instead of adding new. Not sure I can get them to log on, even for what is left of WvW.

Emotionally, I’m done with GW2. The patch just highlighted that. I also am tired of this concept that “It’s our game” and “we can do anything we want to it” (including reinventing old stuff, capriciously redesigning anything, taking things out instead of adding new.)

The game feels unstable.

Well, yes, it’s your game. It certainly doesn’t feel like it’s mine anymore.

Going to try and hang in there and finish Tournament because I really don’t want to bail on my server. I’m counting days though.

I certainly will be playing less (if at all) – and I never ran a champ train. I spent the last 18 months gearing my main (Guardian) – saving laurels, spent 200g on my dang spinal blades back (tailoring was my only 500 armor skill)…etc., etc.

A huge portion of my gear is Celestial, which took perhaps the biggest hit in this patch – coupled with the absolute war they declared on boon duration I pretty much just got nerfed into the ground. I guess they don’t like support toons in groups…

Coupled with the way the stripped new toons/alts of a huge portion of their character progression, I just don’t have any motivation to play.

8 years since I started the GW journey and this is by far the most disappointed and disenfranchised I have ever felt about this series.

I’m not mad, just very, very bummed…

I’m not sure yet… I see it as a mixed bag. I think the bosses on a schedule might be an improvement as it may make it easier to know when to get on if I want to catch a particular fight or fights. I like the idea of the megaserver maps which I hope means more group events can actually happen in the leveling zones. I also like the idea of more rewards working account wide instead of character specific which may make playing alts more rewarding.

I’m a little bummed that trains might be getting nerfed before I had a chance to follow them for more than a few kills (a Ranger to 80 and then immediately switched and started leveling a warrior). I really don’t like the reduced selection of dailies, and while the trait system overall seems a little better, the selling of traits for gold seems at first glance to be a money sink to get new characters to buy gold with gems, which I’m not real fond of.

Apart from the glitches, I don’t really see what’s bad about what happened to world bosses. I mean, it’s not like you would specifically camp for a world boss other than Teq/Wurm anyways, and guild boss calling should remove camping from those 2.

Barring real life circumstances, sure, the game is much better now.

I do feel the “leash” on the bigger world battles is perhaps too wide, and they should reduce the amount of time if ever so slightly between them, so that more people get a chance to do them without relaying on a Guild to open it up for them (certainly, not everyone is part of a big Guild, nor they necessary want to be.)

(The “nerfs” to gear are being rather overstated, IMHO. No gear was made truly “useless” after the patch.)

Probably will play the same amount but what I do will change. I may try the new champ rotation as posted by another player, but mostly I still want to get my meta for the WvW season, so I’ll be concentrating on that. I used to do the FGS champ train on Saturday/Sunday mornings while I had my coffee. Now… not sure what I’ll do to fill that time. I don’t do dungeons much because I find that having to be relied on for “x” amount of time doesn’t work for me due to RL interrruptions. I guess it’s a good time to try out some PvP.
