Hi

Since I had some issues with my GTX 560 I bought and am getting installed a GTX 670.

What are the typical fps for it with everything at ultra?
Oh and my screen is 1980×1080.

And I’m upgrading from 8G to 12G of ram.

I am pretty sure your graphics card isn’t the problem. Nor will the ram do anything to help. What CPU do you have? And I mean seriously, unless you know why you need 12GB of ram or know exactly what you are gonna be doing that will need 12 gigs of ram, you don’t need that much ram. 8 is perfectly fine.

Honestly, a 560 should have no problem with the game (it ran perfectly smooth at max on my old 460). Have you tried just nuking the PC’s Windows and reinstalling first? It might just be your windows and drivers all gunked up.

My cpu is going to be an i5

And yeah my old computer was completly messed up. Hardware was failing, memory was getting cut in half. It was a pain. And the reason I’m getting this computer mostly is cause BestBuy cut 300 off the 1300 computer since they messed up 4 times in a row.

Ah. Personally, I wouldn’t bother putting a 670 into a system with an i5 processor, but it may work out; if so, let us know. I’m running a 560 in an i7 system with 12 GB of RAM and can run best appearance at 25 to 45 FPS just about everywhere in-game.

The i5 appears to be the limiting factor for GW2. I have an i5 2500k at 4.6 GHz and two GTX 680s. I previously had two 560s and one 680. No difference in FPS synched to my monitor’s 60 Hz refresh rate – Lion’s Arch is still dog slow.

Other games will benefit from the 670 over the 560 though.

As i ran gw1 on a socket 462 I had to build a new PC to be able to run/play gw2 so with that i went a little over the top but i’m still not happy with performance while playing gw2

CM Cosmos 2- Case.
Corsair AX1200 gold.
Asus P9X79 Deluxe.
i7-3820 O.C 4.6gig.
64GB G-Skill RipjawsZ DDR3 2,133MHz.
EVGA GeForce GTX 690 – Sli Enabled.
Corsair H100- on push pull.
OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS Edition 240gig.
4x – WD 3TB HDD.
8x CoolerMaster SickleFlow 120 Blue Fans, (these are Loud) :/
OS Win 7 ultimate x64
27" ASUS VG278H – 3D 120Hz Monitor.
26" DELIUM LM2601 1900×1200 LCD, was my old Monitor

Virgin Media 120MB BB unlimited, No Caps, Ethernet Wired

Running all High/Ultra/Native Settings At 1080p or 1900×1200, tho Sub/Super sample give me a difference of 3 fps

WvW at any given time = 12-75 fps.
During 3 way battles for Stonemist in lord room = 9-31 Fps + Skil lag + culling,
(unable to cast any skills at all) unplayable at this point.

During the Wintersday event in LA = 27-42 Fps.
LA with no event = 48-82 Fps.

Outside CoF Dungeon 186 -250+ Fps.
Inside CoF by the Armor Repair anvil = 24-37 Fps, rest of dungeon = 58-89 Fps.
CoF seems to get a lot of Lag & Disconnects, all tho i personally don’t suffer that much from it there.

Cursed Shore = 53-101 Fps, During Events = 47-78 Fps.
no point being there with DR/RNG Monsters.

Frostgorge Sound roaming & before Jormag = 102-141 Fps.
During Jormag event = 17-38 Fps. + Skill Lag + culling.

AC dungeon Exp = 155-233 Fps.

Most Zones before large scale events are 59-120 Fps.
During Most Events 50-80 Fps.
Fast Camera Turning at random times in any zone can break fps = 1-12 fps
this mostly happens In LA & WvW.
I Still get DC,Lag,Errors,Crashes of all kinds including the Low Ram Crash.

M-map = 150-230 Fps.

GW1 Max settings runs at 400-800+ Fps. at any time.
DayZ Max/Ultra settings runs at 88-135 Fps. at any time.
