Hello,
I was wondering… with HoT we get elite proffesion which I believe will have there own Class icon and name..
1. How will this work? Will the name and icon change when you trait into it ( NOT PREVERABLE – I quite like being a thief(can be anything..good or bad. Helpfull or not), and do not really hope to call my self something generic as dare devil which basicly means 1 thing and thats being thrilled by danger which is not me.(just an example, I know the name could not be the name))
or
2. Will it work like your title? and can you select what class Icon/name you wish to display? (preferable, Though I know it might cause issues with feedbacks)
I ask cause I will properbly really like the elite’s most of them, I just can not come to term at all with the name desisions in many casses.
Seth Alre the THIEF!.
It appears to be tied to the trait line.

“For now, characters will only be able to equip a single elite specialization. Doing so will be as easy as it currently is to swap trait points; simply exit combat and select your new elite specialization, "
Currently, in the beta weekend we had with elite specs, using one of those didn’t change neither your class name, nor the class icon.

Probably not in game yet, since it’s still a work in progress. There are bound to be things, like icons, that still need to be added.
I don’t see it happening. The reasoning is that there is the intent on releasing multiple elite specializations per profession, and this would make an over-abundance of icons that may make core specialization identities difficult to identify/distinguish.
In the end, elite specialisation are still part of the profession, so I would prefer to keep the same icone and name ingame. DeceiverX’s point is also good for simplicity sake.

I was thinking that previously. There are currently 9 core and 9 elite, making 18 icons to remember. Let’s say they have another expansion with 9 more elites in a year. Then it’s 27 icons to remember. Another expansion, 36 icons. The number of profession icons can get ridiculous. What I’m guessing they will have to do is have 2 icons on each char, the core and the elite icons to cut down on confusion.
