I like the idea of the streaming client, but will it be more consistent than the current downloader? Without fail I have to restart the GW2 client 2-3 times per major patch to get the download to finish. I never lose progress or have to redownload, but it just stops downloading at random times making me restart the client.

What will happen if this happens to the streaming client? Will my game just crash since it doesn’t have the files? Is this problem fixed in the streaming client?

No way anyone will know until we try it. If it does solve some of your issues it would be interesting to know that.

Will it work for updates or just new downloads?

If I haven’t updated my client on a secondary computer in a while, can I use this option to jump in and play while it updates data in the background?

According to the article, yes it works for updates and new downloads. Although what is available to play right away while doing so may vary depending on what you have downloaded already.

I’ve never had that problem. I don’t think it’s on their end.

It’s definitely on their end, because recently a lot of people have had problems, including a lot of people who never had problems before.

Not all computer problems are going to affect everyone. I mean it could be one specific virus checker that conflicts with it and only people using it are having issues. There’s just no way to know.
