I know a lot of players at the moment are stockpiling champion bags in order to open them when the patch rolls up on Tuesday, but I would actually like to have an official answer from Anet if the champion bags collected before the patch will drop the ascended mats, or only bags collected from Tuesday on.

(I am aware that there was a situation with the Queen Gauntlet bags, I am not sure what it was exactly).

I saw some guild mates talking about this 2 hours after i opened all my 500 champion bags … why can’t Anet just kinda inform us about stuff?
It was the same with the coming raise of karma liquid “drops”, but Anet at least outweighed that by replacing the “lost” karma.
Sadly i think this isnt possible for the bags because i sold some of the content on the TP already. Will they eventually act like i opened the bags after the update and send me the T7 mats?
I hope so, but i think it’s very unlikely.

Don’t hurt to wait, I would say thakittens logical for the game to randomly award the contents of the bag AFTER it has been open. Saving a list of the things that you are getting from the bag once you pick it up would not make sense to me and it is honestly bad programming.

I didn’t think they would contain the new mats. I thought people were saving their bags so they could salvage all the greens/blues after the update. (It takes much less storage to save the bags than the contents.)

Well if the bags work the same way as other chests, if the loot table is updated the unopened bags will have a chance of containing those new items because it’ll roll against the loot table only when you open the bags, not when you get them.

So that’s why I’ve been saving mine because I THINK ascended mats should be in them, but I’m just nervous they’re going to be changed in the next patch and I’ll miss out on mats, blues and greens or the silver from them.

I think the best way it was explained to me by other players “you do not lose any thing by waiting for the update to open up your bags.”

No idea, and most people in LA didn’t know either.

Worst comes to worst, they don’t, and you still have a stash of Blue and Green items to salvage for Magic Find.

It WILL hurt if Anet decides to nerf the silver that’s in them. 5-7 silver each times a stack or 2 is a significant loss.

Pretty sure ANet is aware that people are saving up in anticipation of Tuesday. If they don’t drop T7 mats, they’ll face a kitten storm. If they do, but the silver is dropped, again, they’ll face a kitten storm that will make the gauntlet nerf outcry look like a rainbow parade.
