Q:
Will the game ever be mod compatable?
arena net has never supported mods and I wouldn’t hold my breath on them changing their stance.
I’m pretty sure ArenaNet said they will not allow add-ons in their games. With that said, I wouldn’t mind them implementing more UI customization.
Like I said in another post, I would really love to see something similar to LotRO’s UI skins. In short, a way to resize, hide, and reskin elements of the UI, but with no way to add extra functionality.
While the UI is, for the most part, good, there are a few things about it that really tick me the wrong way.
No, they do not allow mods….and will ban you for using them.
From what people have said, they did allow interface addons in GW1. Any GW1 players who can confirm or deny this?
I know we used TexMod in GW1, like for doing the Cartographer title… and while it wasn’t officially supported, and as far as I know ANet never specifically said it was ok, I also didn’t hear that anyone was banned for using it. And TexMod was used in the game for years.
But my understanding is that the way the client for GW2 functions is quite different from how GW1 did… and I thought I understood that that kind of client-side overlay was no longer possible. I’m very uninformed in that regard, however – and my motto is to always err on the side of caution with things like this.

There are no plans for mod support. Thanks for the question.
