Will the hero system make a comeback?
Heroes system is what pulled me away from GW1… I’d hate to see it make a comeback to GW2.
DoA and UW means Domain of Anguish and Underworld, two elite zones of Gw1.
The alternate name for DoA was Dead on Arrival, since people tended to die there until they leaned what to do. :-) I remember being REALLY startled by that huge tentacle thing erupting out of the ground. My guild mates neglected to warn me about that thing and I was standing right beside it.

I remember when I played first time The Foundry of Failed Creations…… I expirienced the “domain of anguish” in my own skin
Seems pretty clear to me GW2 does not want it’s GW1 player base perhaps intitially the idea was to pay lip service but GW2 has more in common with the same old same old MMO’s than GW1 and even that’s not done very well…
Not happening – but the return in some form of heroes is about the only thing that would give me an interest. I’m an altoholic but find the whole alt levelling thing boring and way too frustrating.
Most other MMO’s encourage alts – GW2 discourages alts and the game is reduced to being controlled by fractals and it’s all about LA – the racial cities are huge, beautiful and empty. Events in the open world are left undone.. tumbleweed everywhere the only reason to go outside is karma zergs – a small number of events that can be run between with the least downtime.
GW1 events huge fun GW2 events lag bug fests.
There is yet another thread just now posted by a user who got abusively kicked from their dungeon group. Theirs isn’t an isolated incident. Just the idea that I could put all my work into a dungeon and be unceremoniously kicked close to the end… that in itself is enough to make me prefer playing alone.
I’m not antisocial by default… here I am on the forums, aren’t I? And I enjoy the presence of other people in the game. I just feel somewhat leery grouping with strangers, and I think there is good reason to be. Judging by this thread I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Do you think it should?
Being somewhat of loner player, I enjoyed the artificial company in Nightfall. But from what I heard, the hero system unbalanced gameplay… or something. I don’t really know what the problem was exactly.
What do you guys predict?
Didn’t play a lot of GW1 but from what i hear, a person with a full party of heroes could in gw1 be just as if not even more effective that a party with only human players
