Hello guys,
recently someone told me that there is in program a “new class” to come in march…
now i know that this is, obviously, an unofficial notice but:
is this a leak (from something they told in a ready up for example), simply a proposal from players or something of more concrete?
If you have more information (also not official) please tell me because this may change my plans for march :P (and the use of my tome of knowledge)

Its not even a rumor. It’s daydreaming.

If this game were about to receive something as big as a new profession – ignoring the fact they’ve told us they’ll do new weapons for existing professions first and probably new races before a new profession – there would be so much hype about it for months before it actually hit that you have no need to EVER worry about one sneaking up on you .

oh, thank you both for answers… i really enjoy actual classes but i’m a big fan of heavy armors and while i actually love 100% of my guardian i can’t do so with my warrior (it seems to me only a one-shot class with big numbers and nothing else) :<

The likelihood of a new class being available without the purchase of an expansion is pretty small as well. Since no expansion has been announced, a March timetable for a new class is inconceivable.

They have talked about this topic recently, they said it is very unlikely because making a new class would require a lot of work there fore a new class will most likely NOT be available any time soon.

Nah man!! DUAL professions have to come 1st.

Colin (the game director) stated that New weapontypes, new races and new classes are all considered (considered isn’t equal to ‘going to happen’), but out of these three, new classes will have the least priority and the biggest issues.

So short answer: you will first see new weapontypes and races before you can expect new classes.

can you give me a link to a “thread with discussion and answers from devs”?
As you said no expansion is in program for now and ever… someone from arenanet said in a review that “gw2 is an evolving game” there will never be gw3 but maybe gw2.5 so if you are sure that “new class = new expansion” mechanism can’t be changed this means that we will never have a new class :<

so, can we get a serious answer from devs giving us all the clarification about this topic?
it would be enough for me also if devs say:
“yes, a new class is in program for the next month (or 2)” or
“no, no new classes in program for the next month (or 2)” .

why the title is changed ? o.O i wrote “Leak proposal or what?” and now the title is “Will there be a new class?” -.-’’ who did so AND why?
