Hello

I have been wondering if anet has considered adding addon options within the game like other MMOs have done. This would take the pressure off anet to try and please everyone that may want small UI changes, text changes, implemented DPS meters, squad view etc etc.

No.

It is a violation of the user agreement

Warriors are those who choose to stand between their enemy and all that he loves or hold sacred

What the guy above said. Even using a macro that makes you do anymore than 1 action is a violation of the user agreement.

I don’t see GW2 as a game that needs 3rd party mods to be a great game though.

3rd party ad ons already exist. Use at your own risk though.

3rd party ad ons were also semi widely used in GW1. Anet did not support them, however, they did not punish ppl for using them either.

I know there is a third party program that will unlock your zoom so you can go out indefinitely…good for areal screen shots and what not.

That zoom program can and will get you banned if they are figuring out you are using it however.

It gets abused in WvW by some.

So far the only “safe” mod is called Combat Mod, which basically changes a few keys behaviors to alter how the game feels when it plays, but Anet refuses to endorse ANY 3rd party mods for liability reasons (i.e. one gets loaded with a virus, or some such)

I hope not, I don’t want GW2 to look like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9xMzMCOvb4
And that’s not even a worst case scenario... I really like the basic UI.

Plain and simple: No.

Especially DPS meters do more damage to the game than good because ~95% are not even remotely capable of reading them properly.

Salix Babylonica (Necro), Tharnath (Guardian), N Faculty (Mesmer),
Occam Pi (Ele), Acaena Elongata (Warrior), Finja Salversdotir (Ranger),
Bytestream (Engineer), Vim Whitespace (Thief)

Hi everyone,

Regarding 3rd party programs, here you have the team’s policy about it’s use https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Policy-3rd-Party-Programs-Multi-Boxing-Macros/first#post1532762.

Thanks for your understanding.
