Since GW2 is more action-based with mobility being a highlight during combat, will we ever have a control scheme that makes controlling our characters less typical MMO style and more TPS/action-y style?
Now don’t get me wrong, I know holding down right-click lets you turn the camera faster, blah blah blah, ya. I know. If you came here to suggest that, then don’t. Cause I know about it already. So will we ever have an option that disables the need to hold down right click in order to rotate the camera, but instead it’s automatically does it and by pressing a key, the cursor appears to navigate menus or manually target. OR simply have the cursor appear when you open a panel and when you close it, it goes back to action style.
My issue is that I play Engineer. Most of my kits require me to aim them with the green aoe reticle, namely, the grenade kit. Why they didn’t have the 1st skill automatically just target the enemy rather than us manually target them is beyond me, then again, I’m not a game designer, so i guess I’m missing something that’s very intuitive with that system. Now of course, someone is going to say “Then why don’t you turn on fast-casting”. Cause fast casting is terrible. Period.
What my suggestion consists of is if we can have an option to automatically cast the aoe field on the enemy we have targeted, rather than pressing the key to get a reticle where we have to manually position it under the enemy while kiting/turning the camera holding down right-click/dodging/etc. I understand some occasions require you to manually aim, so to solve that, by HOLDING the key down, you get the reticle and upon releasing it (or clicking, in case you want to cancel), you cast it.
I know a lot of people like the controls as they are, that’s why all i’m asking is to have an option to use this control scheme.
