Will we get a Heavy new class?
Probably not… or not any time soon.
I’m one who’d like another just so there’s three of each- I admit it isn’t really much of an argument for another but there it is.
As it stands… the armor classes pretty much cover every play style you could imagine. Though, it would be cool to see a heavy class that has perma-minions like the necros/engineers/rangers, but the mechanic to be ‘balanced’ for a heavy armor user with pets is already covered by engineers in that regard.

If you want a shadowknight type character you can already make a warrior who uses poison and fear, and so on. If there were any new ideas it would probably be better to put them into traits and utilities for an existing class. Nobody wants to level up a new character with the current trait system.
Let’s see. They’ve created 9 new skills (1 heal for each profession + toxic heal) and 40 new traits (5 for each profession) in 2 years. Each profession has 80 traits (including minor ones).
So: they’ll have enough traits for a new profession in a couple years, and enough skills in maybe 4-5 years?

and it will still be redundant. there is no need. and if they do add another ‘Profession’ it will most likely be a scholar.
YES! I would LOVE to have 3rd heavy class!
Perhaps Paragons (somewhat, a class who can equip a spear during land) and Dervish combination? Would’ve been awesome!

I’d do it for a new class, sure.
I didn’t play the original GW, so I can’t say what would be lore appropriate to bring over, but I imagine there’d be some heavy-armor class with a different feel.

Maybe next year or years.
Conditioner-based Dark Knight with primary Torment, secondary Confusion, Retaliation when traited. Heavy armor, mid level HP. ;-)
