Is it just a rumor or will we be seeing an expansion soon? I’m hoping to hear something positive.

It’s mostly speculation/rumor. Until Arenanet makes an official announcement that they’re developing an expansion or releasing one, it’s just speculation and rumor.

I really think an expansion would get people excited about this game again. We do need to get ArenaNet to consider this. This is a fun game, but we need something new. People have been crying about new races, professions, more map, new dungeons, and possibly mounts. If an official announcment was made, I think it would get people excited again. I’m still a fan of this game, but I think they need to let us know what the future holds for this game.

ANET’s probable response if they actually responded, and did so honestly: As per our communications policy, we will not communicate with you about this. This is so we don’t string you along. But we’re working on big stuff you’ll enjoy. Please don’t point out the contradiction between sentence 2 and 3, as we will not acknowledge that we’re stringing you along due to our policy that supposedly exists so we don’t string you along.

I think expansion was confirmed in a report to NCsofts stockholders this year. It’s ironic that stockholder get more info than their customers…

no the reports state every year that ncsoft wouldn’t be entirely apposed to an expansion if it was necessary to keep the franchise going.. with that said, no this game isn’t going to receive a good expansion if all things are left entirely to arena net.. if ncsoft steps in and relaunches this game you’ll all see a really awesome expansion.. i feel that is logic that is blatantly obvious at this point.. i could be wrong
