I think Thief’s initiative system > the rest of the classes’ designs. It’s the least clunky and you aren’t stuck auto-attacking if you want to keep using a single weapon rather than swapping.

I think the whole point of having multiple weapons should be the versatility to use two for different purposes, not to cycle through important CDs on one then switch to the other when you’ve spent the first.

It can devolve into spam if certain abilities are too powerful without any assistance from your other skills, but then that’s more of a numbers issue with the specific abilities available and traits that buff them than it is the initiative system.

Won’t be Asuran anything as the armor choices are awful.

Narg, Ranger JQ
Heavy Halo, Warrior JQ

If truly addressing beauty in design as opposed to successful or useful, I would have to pick (taking it down one level from profession) the d/d elementalist, especially prenerfs. The weapon skills are great across the attunements, at least 60 of the traits were something to be excited about, and the playstyle was amazing. It’s the only profession that I’ve watched videos of compulsively—largely because the play afforded was beautiful.

Engi, Ele and Necro. All have very unique mechanics and pretty well designed.

I love how engies gets double benefit for choosing a skill and it kinda fit in the concept as well (like having the flamethrower gives you flame bullets, or the shot and jump back with the pistol gives you the rapid fire with 2 guns on the belt).

Eles switching elements like Avatars in the Avatar airbender cartoon is also great. Each element giving buffs towards a certain aspect of the character (defense, offense, mobility, healing) is very well done.

Necro’s death shroud is algo great though it could be better. Switching planes with the death could have more benefits rather than another HP bar and some generic skills. Instead of those 5, you could have a whole skill set to choose and bring back some skills from GW1 like Necrotic Transversomething (cant remember the skill that let you teleport through death mobs), just an example anyway.

Out of these 3, I’ll go with Elementalist.

(Warriors adrenaline and Guardians virtues are to copy/paste from WoW and other games IMO, so does Ranger’s pet. Mesmer’s clones are OK but I expected much more than destroying them, another thing is that Mesmers in GW2 are nothing like Mesmers in GW1… they need more phantasmal and less butterflies).

Zerk is the average Joe build. Don’t pat yourself in the back too hard.

It’s without a doubt Monk using 2-swords support skill and blade grasp. Either that or Orlandu.
