Somewhat reluctant to post this because I prefer not to hear the usual. Get a life, get some sun, get some fresh air, get a job ect. I have a life it’s called 2nd life, Sit by the east window for sun and have an air purifier. Also have a job. And btw, if your reading this, chances are you spend a lot of time in game/forums so……

My situation, I farm the winterberries daily, I farm 9 of the groups, takes 3 mins per toon and run 69 toons through the farm daily. When I first started I noticed we would get bonus cuts from time to time. Also noticed, if you get a bonus cut to show up, you must cut from the same node to get it, if you move to the other node before getting the bonus cut the bonus cut will disappear.

My problem, after a few weeks with getting at least 1-4 bonus cuts per 9 groups, I started getting zero. Now that is zero bonus cuts from 69 toons farming 9 nodes each or 621 groups total for the day. This has continued since they nerfed the farm. basically I have farmed 4347 groups or 8694 cuts per week with absolutely zero bonus cuts. At first I thought oh they nerfed the bonus cuts as well. Wanted to double check so logged on an alt account today, ran a few toons through the farm and noticed I was getting 1-4 bonus cuts on that account.

All buffs are the same from when I first started farming until now. Nothing in that regard has changed.

I moved 9 toons out to farm trees for a week in Malchors then moved them back today still zero bonus cuts on those as well.

My question is, has anyone else experience zero bonus cuts? Or does anyone know why/what I am doing wrong? Does Anet allot us a set amount of berry bonus cuts per account/life? I’m really curious, since the nerf on unbound magic and now the “no bonus cuts for you!” It’s hard to stay motivated on the farm. Any insight would be appreciated.

Oh, also went 3 days without farming any berries to see if that would reset it, it certainly did not. Still zero bonus cuts.

I had considered that, I could not find any thread/comments regarding diminished returns on node farming. In fact, back when seaweed was a good farm I did the same thing. Never had diminished returns on that.
I also moved 9 toons out for a week. That didn’t help those 9 at all. I then went 3 days thinking it would reset if it was diminished returns. That did not help either. According to that link, it does reset after a set time, I would think 3 days would be enough, maybe not.

Only thing I can think of is it is somehow diminished returns and this statement is what makes me assume that. ""ArenaNet has never shared the precise details of how diminishing returns is implemented in Guild Wars 2""

Also regarding DR, according to that link these are the only things affected by DR.

Dynamic events, in which the completion rewards are reduced for a given character after clearing or failing a total of 10 events.
Loot from enemies, in which foes tend to drop less loot of progressively lower quality, for a character remaining in the same area for long periods of time.

Without boosters, the additional chance at gathering is a bonus from WvW, which will vary depending on how well your server is doing. Mouse over the WvW icon on the top left to check.

Nodes do have a kind of DR, but it causes all nodes in the surrounding area to vanish.

I had considered that as well. I am on JQ. They are doing well.

Also, the alt account I logged onto is on JQ and it was getting bonus cuts. Just my main account was not.

Do you get additional gathers anywhere else? There was a bug in the early days where some accounts wouldn’t receive the bonuses from WvW. You’d need a gathering booster to test that. If not that, there probably is a maximum amount of bonus gathers.

@Healix, I noticed I would occasionally get the extra whack on a tree. So I think you’re right. It is the only thing I can think of at this time that would explain it. It’s discouraging if Anet did this. Not completely shocking though.
