So, I opened the Karka Box this morning, and, for once, I felt rewarded and happy in Guild Wars 2. An useful 20-slot bag and a few exotics, that was kinda awesome!
And then I was thinking, “Wintersday is the ideal time for this kind of gift. Why wouldn’t there be one?”. Let’s suppose there will indeed be one. What would you like to see inside?
I’d love to get one or two (or three) of the following:
- A 20-slot Wintersday Bag.
- A few exotics.
- Some shiny precursors.
- A special Gem Store ticket: pick an item worth between 1-500 gems in the Gem Store for free.
- 2-5 gold.
And more important, this should be mailed to EVERYONE to avoid complaints and distribution glitchs!
Any more ideas? Arenanet Santas are there so tell them what you want!
I want Felicia Day, preferably in her ‘Date My Avatar’ costume, and definitely not in her role as an Asura (cuz while the goggles are awesome, the floppy ears would make me giggle and ruin the mood).

Mmmm… No to the precursors/exotics. Way too many people complained about that sort of thing with the karka chests.
The safest option would probably be something like a bag, some purely cosmetic things (town clothes/armor skins), a small sum of gold and 1-3 black lion keys. It would be rad if the clothes/skins were race specific, for variety’s sake, but now I’m going into pipedream territory.
You can almost be sure there will be a free hat to grab in the store, as they did in previous events. And if there’s a mini-pet, it will probably be in the Gem Store.
I know it will never happen, but it would be awesome to see real life stuff in the Gem Store, like apparel, character plushies, mousepads, etc. Well, even if they’d consider doing that, it wouldn’t come in less than a week for the event, lol.
Whatever they do decide will be fine, I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
I just want a community that is more helpful and isn’t a bunch of kitten.
Check out the “players helping players” subforum – the folks there are generally very friendly and helpful. I find that to be a great spot to post if you’re looking to get helpful community answers
Here’s a few of my wishes for wintersday in general :
The return of jingle bears from GW1 as charmable pets for the duration of the event(basically polar bears with tinsel round their neck).
A nice wintersday themed bag(either 20 slot or something else i dont mind)
Wintersday themed town clothes that arent trading post purchase only.
A random special one off minipet present on dec 25th sent to all players.
A fun jumping puzzle in lions arch like the mad kings event one.
Candy cane staff’s and wands as skins for weapons alongside a bunch of other wintersday themed skins.
Secret lair of the snowmen added either as a scavenger hunt type quest leading to a mini dungoen or via the fractals.
If i had a say in where the jumping puzzle would be placed in lions arch i’s go with the spot the lion statue used to be since at the moment its empty so woudl be easier to slap a puzzle into.
Other than that maybe stuff to do in each starter town to draw us back to those locations and heck why not throw in a small event in ebonhawke that echo’s the armistic held on xmas day during ww1 s to add a wintersday during waritme slant to the event(and get people to actually go to this really lore heavy zone).
