For any Dev who might read this, I have a couple comments on the recent Wintersday events.

1. Grawnks Heart – Why are the only ways to win the ornaments with Jumping Puzzles. I have a poor latency ( 0.7 sec ) and any JP is almost impossible. If you have to have puzzles, how about a completion ( for this event only ) after say 20 to 30 trys ?

2. Wintersday Dailies – The daily Bell Choir is also lag dependant. I spent 2 hrs trying to hit more than 1 note right in a session with no luck and never completed the event. I noticed that the Daily says " Take Part " not successfully complete but I did not get any credit. Again you penalize players with slow connections.

3. Toypocalypse – Says you get the achievement after completing 30 rounds. I have already completed this once ( yes all 30 rounds ) but did not get credit. What gives ?

I find the events generally good, but am disappointed that you seem to have this fascination with Jumping puzzles or anything requiring minimal lag. Remember, not everyone has a high speed connection.

1: Ask for a mesmer to port you up if you can’t do it.

2: You don’t need to complete all the dailies. You can skip the Bell one if you can’t do it (it does seem very unlikely that you can do anything at all in the game if you can’t even hit a couple of the tones due to lag).

3: Due to it being repeatable it is possible that it will not register unless you successfully complete the whole thing at least once before. It is of course also possible that it is simply a bug. Those things happens after all.

Every single thing in the game will have parts of the players that will have issues for one reason or another. Does that mean they should basically not do anything?

The ornaments don’t only come from jumping puzzles. They come from any of the racial chests (e.g. the floating ones for tinsel ornament where the hint is the asura).

These can be at the end of jumping puzzles, or mini dungeons or even just out in the world. I got the gold ball ornament from a chest at the base of the waterfall in Malchor’s Leap outside the two jumping puzzles.
