Wintersday Jumping Puzzle Griefers
Wait, I’m a little confused here, what’s the problem?
If they are going as soon as it spawns I don’t see the issue. That’s sorta normal. People want to go as soon as possible (even though that means waiting on the course.)
However, in your case someone is just autorunning onto it for 30 minutes? So he’s just wasting his own time?
You should have time to go even if someone touches that snowflake as soon as possible.
I’m like 60% sure that the snowflake are all on a timer. Regardless of who touched it.
Grand Warden of I Crit Under Pressure.
message me for an invite ^_^
Wow…
So that person was so hellbent on being a jerk that they wasted 30 minutes of their day to do this?
And whats more amusing is the fact that there is still a few moments between when the snowflake is touched and when it disintegrates… So people could still jump on it and do the puzzle from that platform.
I don’t even know what to say to this one…
… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
Autowalking from the quaggan platform DOES NOT DESTROY the snowflakes. The reason it seems so is because everyone jumps on the platform all the time when it spawns (like in the picture). That said that was me being plain afk.
I found here because I saw your /say message and wanted to let you know that it’s indeed not harmful but couldn’t due to you having me on your block list which is totally understandable. I strongly dislike perceived griefers too. (EDIT: However painting Mystic Builds as some kind of griefer guild is kind of low whether by purpose or accident. SALT didn’t make me do it, I did. SALT is a well respected large modest guild with zero tolerance for toxicity.)
So is there a reason for afking in winter wonderland? Yes. Some people enjoy speedrunning the jumping puzzle. However getting to a low/none population speedrun instance takes many hours. That’s why some of us resort to afking in the regular instances. I’m not after gold so I didn’t end up doing the jp. Practicing speedrunning techniques is harder on a high population map so that’s another reason to afk and not do the puzzle.
Another, well known, afk spot is in the gingerbread man path where one can autorun without triggering the presents. I don’t know about the 2nd path since path 3 is my favourite and I was really happy to get to know this afk method couple days ago that has minimal setup time so that if I decide to jump a few rounds in P3 I can get right into it.
So yeah, by writing this I just wanted to offer some insight to some of you from this aspect of this jp. Happy Speedrunning and merry Wintersday.

It does. I’ve been looking at it for minutes on end.
Snowflake appears and starts disappearing the moment the autorunner drops off the platfrom.
Every.
Single.
Time.
This is with no one else doing anything. Not a single other player being anywhere near.

I’m talking about autorunning with the walk toggle on. I believe running causes the character to drop nearer the snowflake than walking.
what terrible trolls, oh dear, oh my
I thought this thread was going to be about the giant Norns and Charrs in trench coats covering entire platforms and removing the ability to see your character.
I dont really have a problem with destroyed snowflakes tbh, it happens every other time and you can only get 17-18 clears max in a non-bugged public game anyway. From my experience you can probably get 17 clears even if the snowflakes are destroyed every time.
So even if you are an absolute pro working at maximum JP farm efficiency, you lose 20 presents per hour from this griefer. Down from 360 to 340, doesn’t seem that big of a deal since most people make mistakes and fall anyways.
Auto walking and running destroys the first snowflake and you can’t always be there in time to catch the last glimpse of the snowflake, so what happens is that there’s jams because of one afk guy. Happens every year and at some point it was mildly justified when we hadn’t had Megaservers and one had to queue to get into the JP. The problem stays the same: those who play the game have to wait for one selfish person.
And they didn’t waste 30 mins, they just let their char autorun and did something else.
I don’t really care about Charrs, Trechcoats or anything, I just don’t like selfish stupidity and well, those gigantic characters often seem a hinderance to themselves, so it’s not selfish

It’s not about losinng something it’s about being annoyed by someone. Really waiting after each completion because of something that’s not supposed to be.. I don’t mind if the first snowflakes are destroyed by someone learning the JP, but I do mind griefers.
^ Autowalking does not destroy the snowflakes. I’ve seen 0 evidence to point otherwise.
Snowflakes are all on a timer. Very easy to see if you just used a stopwatch.

Yay the guy from the screenshot =)
Your “evidence” doesn’t show the snowflake, so it’s no evidence, but I guess that was the intend.
Thanks for holding us up for about half an hour to an hour.

The reappearance of snowflakes after melting is on a timer but not when they start to melt each time.

They aren’t =) Their decay depends on someone “touching them” very easy to just stand on a platform and watch them.

I doubt they respawn in 1.5 seconds what it takes my camera regain it’s view.

respawn = despawn.
We both know you’re wrong, so just leave it at that. Some guys on the forums obviously don’t know the JP, so they agree with you buuuuut:
Next time – just leave the JP if you’re afk.
ETA: You don’t show the snowflake you destroyed – that was what I meant = no proof for your claim that you didn’t touch it.

The video does, indeed, show the snowflake. When it first appears, it stays up until another player (not the one who made the video) jumps ONTO the snowflake. The player who made the video never causes it to melt, according to the video itself. after the first snowflake disappears and another one forms, you see the same thing happen again. So, unless they took the time to sneakily edit their footage, it looks like they’re correct.
The OP was talking about autorunning. When did this become about autowalking?

The screenshot OP linked is of autowalking. Though I concede that autorunning is a problem.
Saw him today too. It is not griefing, he just took 1 slot from this map to farm this JP when he will return. Selfish and stupid. I did not have problems joining this map this year, may be need to press “join” emm… 5 times? Some people can not join map becuase those afkers occupy free slots.
