I’ve been saving my black lion keys for this, just in case they pull another halloween. Though I doubt my 3(!) keys will give me much of a chance.

I would love to see an event where Tixx’s toys go haywire and cause havoc in Lion’s Arch. But instead of destroying the toys, Tixx asks you to zap them with a special rifle that drains its batteries. Once you subdue them, you return them to Tixx so he can give it to the kids.

I’m totally excited for this. Though it is somewhat interesting to note that they are going to utilize technological advances in Tyria to develop events for Wintersday…as far as lore is concerned.

I’m actually most excited about the Wintersday changes in Lion’s Arch. I hope they play the old soundtrack that old Lion’s arch had for the holiday season.

Drops for black lion keys are so difficult to acquire without purchasing them for gems, but I hope I can get a few before the event starts.

i wanna be on that Golem Blimp/Zeppelin.

also, why does it always have to be in lion’s arch? all the hubs are as easily accessible. maybe have it in all city hubs, so that players can move around and not clog up LA.

I can’t imagine the charrs and their city to be very enthusiastic :p

Its not just Lion’s Arch, according to the official page. Sure its mainly there, but there should be stuff to do in the other cities too.

Hmm, no details yet. I guess they’re yet to announce their 20 hour event that can only be done on Xmas day to get gear absolutely necessary to play all stages of future content.

Number 3 would be some epic trolling. Could you imagine the rage when they announce “Introducing A Complete Gear Treadmill”! Then you find out you get a toy that’s a treadmill made out of gears.

Gotta say after the last few Events i’m quite apprehensive to be honest..

Much prefer game fixes and balancing to more Gem shop Events… Especially being in a non American timezone…

They have two separate teams (more, but can’t remember what the other are for), one that’s fixing the bugs and one that’s doing new content. Sure it might make the fixes come faster if both were working on it, but them doing new content at the same time is a good thing (even though it will have bugs as well). I kinda agree they should fix existing bugs first, but at least new content can distract/occupy us while they do fix the existing ones (as well as any new ones that will get introduced).

As for the time zone thing, its a three week long event (in total). Sure there may be more one-time events, but at least they are doing them when the most number of people are on to experience it (though IMO the one-time events should only ever be the cut-scenes, since those people can still experience later on, even if they weren’t there when it happened).

Depends on how big it actually is. The pic given seems to indicate that its HUGE (which means its gonna be kinda hard to hide it).

Great another event that they will most likely hold over the Christmas Holiday when 90% of their player base is visiting Family/Friends… More exclusive content and exclusive items that only a small fraction of the players will get to see.

Maybe fix the thousands and thousands of broken things and add content for everyone instead? that is my Wintersday wish.

Doesn’t part of the event description specifically state the giant airship will visit all racial cities before going to LA?

Yes and No, at least how I read it. It said Tixx would visit each city, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the airship will be there. Its possible he could arrive at LA, and then use the Gates to get to the others, but more likely it’ll be what you said (I hope).

I am actually looking foward to another try from Anet.
Halloween one was excellent, they really pulled it off. Lost shores was just plain terribad. We can only hope this one will be good.
Maybe they are doing a Microsoft thing with the whole good,bad,good,bad OS releases.

Why is everything focused on Lion’s arch? They are treating the game as if it has a tiny community that can fill 1 town.

The description states he’s going to each racial city first….

The guy is in a giant floating airship…. he can move at will.

alot of servers are ghost towns, so yea alot of servers need LA as the main event area

Was just passing through and saw this. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Wintersday tournament of some sorts. After all, since release, Rytlock has had a certain specific trophy stashed away in his office which has a big hint to this.

Shouldn’t this thread also be moved to the new Wintersday event forum?
