Patch day was last Tuesday, there will be nothing today.
For what it’s worth I think the whole way HoT has been approached is terrible. Since the announcement Arenanet have left the current players with nothing new, not even the usual spring WvW tournament. It doesn’t make much business sense to announce something so early, drip feed information with very little proper news, no release window, and simply stop producing new content which the game was originally designed for. Arenanet are a great company, GW2 is one of my favourite games of all time, but the way this has been done is crazy to me. They will be lucky to have a decent player base left when the expansion releases at this rate!
There is no Beta Test today. We have no idea, yet, when the next Beta will be. It is not Patch day, either. Next Tuesday may bring us something. /shrug
At this rate, the lack of content now is catching up to whatever total content is released with the expansion, except then we’ll have to pay for that content. It will essentially be a wash. I have no doubt there will be some great new gem store items this week as something to look at/purchase while we grind dozens of hours for beta keys in maps we’re tired of.
Players: We don’t like getting small bits of content every two weeks. We demand an expansion!

I’m totaly fine waiting for the Hot expansion. But an event here and there would be nice. Preferably the Crown Pavilion and Queens Gauntlet, or Zephyr Sanctum , but that may be a little difficult lore wise, as it seems the Zephyrites are not in their best form right now (completely destroyed in other words :-p ).

How about an event in DR where there are a bunch of Aetherblade and Molten Alliance piñatas and we have to beat them up till they drop candy and skins?

Not really sure how you read that out of my post. I never in any way or form implied that people should stop playing.
There is plenty of stuff that you can do in-game between now and then after all.

that’s the problem, it’s everything but fixed…….a fix is the least we can ask for….
When they do add builds on Tuesdays, they often do so a little later in the day. Three hours from now and no build? Then it might be time for gloom from those who were hoping something would drop. Right now it’s still early in the usual build release window.

The last bunch of patches have actually been live by now.
But it is the wrong Tuesday. We had an update last week, we won’t have one until next Tuesday at the earliest.

You know that people taking a break from playing doesn’t mean revenue shrinking in a B2P, I hope. And what we’ve seen so far of HoT and its preparatory changes is far more than a season of LS.
If you feel it’s a scam, don’t spend money on it or waste your time paying attention to the game any longer. Personally, as someone with a keen sense of when something’s a scam (not a perfect one, I have been fooled, once fairly badly), I think I’m getting good value out of this game and will cheerfully buy the expansion so as to continue getting value and fun.

Of all the possible things to hope for, that’s the most hopeless. The festival of the four winds was what happened when the Zephyrites visited Kryta to trade. Due to events in the Living Story, that’s just not a possibility.

It would break the story for the festival to happen, but not for them to do something else with the zone. But that would take work, and I doubt they have the manpower to spare to revamp the zone right now.
The REAL problem is that events CAN’T happen right now. HoT is supposed to happen right after LS season 2 ended. There’s literally no time for events to happen between the two. So, the game’s on pause until HoT comes out, as far as such things go.

There has been a much smaller amount of content released recently, while that’s not too unusual for a game with an expansion in the works, the lack of events is, even games with that operate on expansions tend to provide a plethora of events to keep the players entertained.
Since Christmas I believe the only new content (in game) was 2 new back skins and some new festival decorations/fireworks. Everything else has been gemstore.
So about 5 months since the last meaningful content update* (content not features/fixes like FOV)

11x level 80’s 80+ Titles 2600+ skins , still a long way to go.

…..We don’t have the tools to easily mass remove achievements/titles, which means it’s something that has to be developed. Unfortunately, this came at a time where our resources are tapped to the max, so it’s taking longer than we would like to fix this……
The expansion may be taking up all their available people and leaving none for extra, new content or revamped old content.
