Will we ever get World Boss armors like the one Tripple Trouble drops?

I would love to actualy have a slight chance at a drop at these, Shatterer armor would look so cool, or Jormags…

2-3 piece sets, would look epic!

I am massively in favour of this idea, but why only 2-3 pieces and not a full set for each boss? I hate mixing and matching armour so I would love it if there was full sets to get. Maybe the drop rate should be slightly higher and you are able to choose which piece you get, with a collection achievement for each set and a title for getting every set. However I don’t see this system being added for old bosses, so hopefully this will be used in HoT bosses.
I suspect that my favourite sets would be shadow behemoth or fire elemental by the way.

Before i support this idea i must say. These pieces should ONLY drop from the certain boss, you should NOT be able to aquire them through PVP or any other way than killing world bosses. Low drop rate.

So something in gw2 remains somewhat intact and in line with other mmorpg’s, so you have SOMETHING to look forward too.

PvP tracks are the saving grace for a lot of collections. You don’t wanna pigeon hole anything to drop only if you have any intention of being able to use them. Just look at the drop rate for Teq’s Hoard and Wurm gear…. if you still trust RNG after that, you must really want to punish yourself. :P

Agreed, don’t know why people want stuff so hard/grindy to get (okay, I do, its so people with way more time can grind it and then lord over people who don’t have it, I just tell myself I don’t so I can avoid getting angry at people who enjoy things not for their own sake but for the purpose of having things others don’t)

But anyway, what about instead of having Shatterer drop a super rare random piece of armor (who wants to get the gloves six times hmmmm?), what if he dropped Scales of the Shatterer, they can rng boxed in amounts I guess, so maybe one time you get a few another you get a bunch.

And then there’s a collector that trades the armor pieces for the Scales.
You have to do the content (or the PvP track for the boxen) and you get the pieces you actually want.
I know, I just suggested a bunch of new currencies, shoot me now.
But I’d much rather that, or a collection/achievement that lets me work for/earn/build the parts I want specifically, instead of relying so heavily on the same mindnumbing/teethgrinding/hairpulling RNG we have for so many other things.

I love the idea of area/event specific armor/weapons, like the carapace/Lumi stuff.
I’m just so tired of everything being hidden behind 3 years of RNG grinding.

Scribe you argument about people getting it faster then someone with less time to play is not really good, you can do all the world bosses once a day, i don’t imagine you failing to find 15mins to kill shatterer for instance, even if you miss it, doesn’t mean it will drop faster for someone else, its a chance drop.

The idea is along the lines of Wurm armor, its a rare drop, can only be obtained on wurm and has a very nice look.

Full set would be desirable but well.. depends on Anet..

Actually you kind of missed my point, it wasn’t “its unfair they can get it faster”
or “its unfair someone who’s purchased and leveled more characters gets more shots at loot”
Which actually, I’m fine with. I’ve long argued against a lot of the time gating (especially account wide gating), if someone wants to run one thing more than once who cares, why deny them reward for something they like doing to prevent farming?

I was referencing the mindset in general of “I want to have it and want other people to not be able to get it
Those who only care if they can have it while others can’t.
The kind of people who push for things to be removed/not returned so no one else can get what they have.
That’s what I have a problem with, not someone grinding more than me.

Although part of my goal is to take a little of the RNG out of the grind, thus my suggestion of a collection, or a Scales type drop to trade for armor/weapons.
(similar to my stance against the gambling involved in BLTC weapons skins)

So something in gw2 remains somewhat intact and in line with other mmorpg’s, so you have SOMETHING to look forward too.

And before I support yours, it would need an alternate way of getting them (not pvp/others like you said). Something like SABs reward structure, where you can either get lucky with a drop, or repeatedly farm the kitten out of the thing (in this case a specific world boss) and get a token each time and then trade X of them in for one of the world boss exclusive rewards.
(I really with teq and TT would adopt SABs reward structure for their exclusive rewards…)

Only if they get improvements to be on par to Tequatl.

Otherwise it seems rather pointless. Spend 5 minutes or less at a boss and get something fancy looking? Eh.

Of course, they shouldn’t be as rare to get as Tequatl’s Hoard or the Triple Trouble armor pieces. But the bosses need buffs too if they get new special rewards.

Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Right now, world bosses are trivial content: everyone shows up at the same time, boss always dies (unless the map instance is created late), and so the rewards are all but guaranteed.

This is less true for Tequatl and Breach|Vinewrath events and not really applicable to Tripleheaded, so support these events randomly rewarding special skins that cannot easily be obtained elsewhere.

So, when each world boss gets an update that re-introduces the possibility of failure, then I would also like to see new armor or weapon skins as part of the reward

First off they should finalyl begin to redesign all of the World Bosses to make them more challenging, fun and rewarding in itself.

ANet should remove all of the old Boss Category achievements and reintegrate them back under redesigned Boss Achievement Sets for every single world boss in the same way like Tequatl/Triple Trouble, so that each Boss should have like 10-15 own different achievements.

Anet should start with this first with the Shatter and Jormags Claw, making first the Dragon Champions all challenging epic battles.
Then they should finalyl add something like “Monsterslayer Tokens” or so as a new rewarding currency, that players should be able to use to turn it in for special world boss rewards, so that also people which are super incredible unlucky and still havent gotten after like the 1000tzhs tec kill one of his weapon skins enough of these tokens to simply buy those special Tequatl Skins!! The changes to the Fractal Reward System, making it possible to buy Fractal Weapon Skins shows it, that its possible.. so why not improve this concept to more aspects of the games reward systems, which are in dire need of these kinds of QoL improvements to make the game more fun and rewarding also over time, so that people can EARN also too things and don’t need to rely themself only 100% on pure luck always!!

Once they redesigns the Dragon Champions, they should slowly progress these improvement steps by the other big world bosses, like the Karka Queen, The Mega Destroyer, that big Robot and so on … and add to all of them then step by stpe some own unique rewards that range between unique minis, unique weapon skins, unique armor skins, unique back items, unique aqua breathers, unique gliders, unique finishers and so on and so forth…possibilities are endless here…

ANet just has to do more to revitalize certain aspects of the game, which they ignored for too long so far. This switzer cheese kind of game design full of holes needs to end of implementing uncomplete things and lettign game mechanics run in that kind of uncomplete state for years, when it would be much better to complete things, that when once having been started, should get finished also as quickly as possible to make the systems complete and consistent.

Cause if anet would do that, they they would have to fix alot lesser things and to add missign things here n there every now n then to make those incomplete mechanics and systems functionize also…

When I talk about incomplete mechanics and systems, i mean stuff like:

  • Adding finally Ascended Aqua Breathers (finalyl comes now with HoT and the Fractal Changes after like 2 years of adding aascended Equipment… seriously, what took so long to add this?)
  • Adding more of alot of missing Stat Combination Upgrades for ascended Equipment as also in general Stat Combinations for Upgrades, uhm when?? In another 2+ years?
  • Adding Legendary Accessoires and Legendary Armor Sets, something that could have been addecalready alongside with Legendary Weapons firsthand … as logn this Stuff is missing, its an incomplete system, but for once we can be happy now, Legendary backpacks are now on the way, a beginning wohoo, after 2 years they continue with something, that could have been already completed by now
  • More Dungeon Path Redesigns like that of Twilight Arbor with the Twilight Path and maybe adding also new Paths for once, instead of removing old onces for the redesigned ones – hopefulyl this will get somewhen in a near future again more Anets attention, together also with addign new Dungeons and improvign the general concept of Dungeons – I seriously hope the challengign group content will go deeper into this territory of improvmeents via Raids, Dungeon Crawlers, Heroic Fractals (BMP Style), Battlefields, Hunting Grounds (MH Style) ect.
  • Adding missing Minigames finally, that should have been in game since release, like Polymok, Bar Fights, Target Shooting ect.
  • Addign finally jeweler 500 and Chef 500 to mae finalyl those crafting jobs on par with all the others!!

The list goes on.. GW2 kitten much unfinished stuff, its the switzer cheese of switzer cheese of game designs so far.
I seriously hope, that once HoT is out and when Living Story continues ect., that then Anet will set with Feature Packs ancd normal updates again as also continued expansions the focus on all the unfinished stuff in this game and completes it finally.

Yes.

Let’s get a Tequatl helmet. It can be an aquarium you wear on you head with something in the water.

There can be Zhaitan chest pieces. The stats have to be very poor and not live up to the many hours of hype.

Claw of Jormag Bad Frosty Breath aqua breather.

Modniir Ulgoth centaur leggings. This is a new 2 player armor, because someone has to be the rear.

If Anet does decide to rework the bosses i believe we might be getting new Armors we could collect for vanitys sake, heck id even settle for them beeing only exotic : )

Could be both a drop and something you get with an specific world boss token.

The problem with RGN is that of lets supose 100000 users with a 0.1% drop you will have generally 100 people having it at the 1000th world boss kill -.- .

This not only generate a problem, but also make a group of the player base quit that new set of drops, this is because you are making it have a “risk”, the i get the drop too late risk.

Between the probablity of the drop and risk adversion and even worst if the drop rate its unknown, the expected utility for the drop will make a large group of people not invest time in going to world bosses. As such the content added will not be generally inclusive to the alredy existing world bosses farmers.

So its always good to not let RGN do all the work.

I like the idea of a world boss currency. If we’re imagining pie in the sky scenarios where the boss fights are more challenging/engaging, I’d also like to include pre-events with non-terrible scaling that give you a chance (reduced, perhaps) of getting tokens for earning gold on completion.
