I’m a casual player who logs in when I have time, so when I logged in after about 3 days, the new patch had come in and I found my whole guild transferred and I didn’t have time to transfer pre-patch. I’m now stuck on a world with a supposedly high population that is really dead and nobody does wvw. I want to change worlds, but I need 1800 gems to go to my guild’s world. That’s over $20. That is just ridiculous. Since I’m a casual player, I don’t have nearly enough gold to buy the gems to transfer, either. This really needs to change. Casual players stand no chance now since I’m stuck on a dead world and nobody is transferring here since everyone is leaving/already left.

Please reduce the price to transfer to worlds. $12.50 for another dead world or $22.50 for a world that actually has people active is ridiculous.

Can’t you ask your guild to contribute? After all: they did leave you behind.

If it were too cheap we’d be back inthe same situation as with free transfer,
ie bandwaggoners moving to high tier wvwvw servers, and spies

I see it this way. I came from World of Warcraft. Server transfer there is $25. Any changes to your character other than name, $25. Not to mention the $15 every month just to keep playing.

Now flip side to Guild Wars. No monthly fee. The currency used to buy things can actually be gotten for gold. I’m not a heavy farmer or anything myself. I’m lucky to get 50 silver a day. Was I willing to trade two weeks’ worth of earnings to turn over into a useless Quaggan backpack? Heck yeah!

That $20 (average) seems like a lot when you just look at the price itself. But if you think about it the other way, it’s really not that much. It would obviously be worth it to you to cough up the dough. If you can’t do it right now, maybe just put in $5 worth of Gems when you can until you have enough to go where you want.

That’s how I would do it anyway, but that’s me. Or just farm my fingers off until I could trade in enough gold.

I agree that the cost to transfer to a lower population world could/should be lower, but the cost to transfer to a very high or full server should be prohibitively expensive. 90% of the population in 30% of the servers would be very bad for the game. A wide gap between the two costs is a great way to encourage population spread. Im sorry that some have ended up in a situation they dont find ideal, but this kind of system is needed to keep things at least a little balanced.

Finally, if your guild really cares about getting you to their server, there is a way to make that happen. Ask them to take up a collection and send you enough in game gold to cover at least part (if not all) of the transfer cost.

Free transfers were up for like 6 Months.

Oh and you don’t have to mention in every second sentence, that you are a casual player.

This isnt going to help the game. I hate cheap people, cheap people are greedy selfish and dont have anything to offer, this games acting cheap. Doesnt look good. No one wants to give money to a cheap kitten.

As far as I’m concerned they should have just implemented a monthly fee and be done with it. Every time they try to make any money to keep this game going for us someone has to complain. Heaven forbid that a company tries to make a profit. Oh no…the sky is falling.

Get over it! You had almost 6 months to settle on a server (for free) and now the complaints come out because some people can’t be bothered to take care of themselves.

You could always try guesting til you’ve got enough gold to make the switch.

There ya go OP … Anet has already provided a free solution for casual players.

If your guildmates find you to be great company around them and have built a certain level of trust amongst them, then you could always ask them to pitch in for your server transfer. I know I passed on a few coin to a couple guildmates that somehow missed the deadline.

Aside from that, you could always try to Guest on their server. The only downside would be that you won’t be able to participate in WvW with them.

If your guild left without telling you than maybe they could take up a collection. Seriously there are some servers that are taking collections to get entire guilds to move to thier servers.

Actual world transfer for me are cheap i was expecting like some like 2000 jewels for low population servers and higth like 4000gems like that or more.

$25.00 seems like the going rate in a lot of games…so $20.00 isn’t all that bad.

Go farm CoF like everybody else and you can pretty much get that gold to buy gems in less than a day. They gave you a month to move, missed the window, though luck.
