I can not believe I paid for this experience….. I have an email with greenmangaming and ncsoft, or whoever is handling questions for GW2 itself asking for a refund. Before I was able to log in, there was an attempt from china to log in as me…. Does GW2 use any security, or do they just post all new account info to www.google.cn? So, whatever, I add an annoying authenticator. Ok, on to the game to see what my friends are ranting and raving about, right? Wrong. I go to find the server they play on (at 6:30am, mind you) and it’s full. Ok, I’ll just play on a different one until I can create a character on that server to play with them. Oh…wait…. there’s a fee to change servers later on…..

The problems you experienced are avoidable or not problems at all.

-Security: As you properly did, you set up security. I do hope they add RSA tokens in the future, but its a start. Took WoW years to do this.
-Your server is full at 6:30am. Thats a good thing. That means, obviously, that tons of people love the game, and are playing it even in the early hours(or peak time in their time zone). This means the game is thriving. Could have been patient, like my RL friends were, waited a few minutes, or an hour, and try again. The full simply meant that you couldnt create a new one at that time. I think if you waited a little bit, you would have been fine.
-It sounds like server transfers are no longer free. Good, but I am sorry you didnt check this real quick to see if they were free or not. If I had a thought to start a toon on a server other than where my buddies are, Id probably do a quick search or make a post here asking if they were free still. I wouldn’t have taken the chance.

so, your “worst experience” is somewhat self inflicted.

Server transfers are still free. They only limit it now to once every 7 days.

I hear you can make a support ticket and choose refund as the reason.
