Those who adapt, look up, i explained taht anet should adapt not players, also to adapt to changes wvwers should just quit playing meele while pvpers should all play thievs It will be same cause u won’t have stab anyway xD

im not an expert but if its that bad in wvw mybe they can change how things work in wvw like when u enter wvw stability works the way it used to work before this patch . or idk mybe current 1 for pvp and change abit how it works in pve if its bad i belive he has a very good point for melees its very hard with all cc from melee and range i dont play Wvw but i can imagin a group of more than 50 ppl can have alot of cc and melees wont even have time to attack once
Perhaps it is time to get better at the game, and not to rely on blobs?
It is same for guilds ;D Today every guild was afraid of mt v mt cos of lose of stacks due to ccs U know EU meta is meele vs meele not range vs range like NA.
It’s not melee vs. melee anymore … which is the point. You think Anet just changed this for reasons “just because”? Those that adapt are going to PWN everyone. better start learning instead of honing your cryhard skills.

Good, guardians and warriors have ruled melee trains for far too long.
YEAH now there will be no meele train and all will go with papers for open raids to not get into clash
Or maybe warriors and guardians will have to play like every other melee such as thief, ranger, and mesmer have ever played.
Its a terrible update. Despite being 6 days late its full of bugs. Stability change is also horrible and the camera changes make arrow carts even more OP.
I rate this patch 0 points out of 10.

You clearly weren’t around during LS Season 1.
Karka was probably the worst. Constant lag fests in LA, karka ninja attacking you from all over the place because of culling, rubber bands like no one’s business, crashes, but you know what? I still loved that event more than anything Anet has done since.
This new change with stab is a major game changer for wvw. So much so I think I’ll probably hit wvw for the first time in a long time to see how things evolve
They’re still kicking WvW players while they’re down I see. Now doing Map Completion in WvW doesn’t even give a reward? Why Anet? Why the heck do we even have Vistas, Skill Points, and Point of Interests in World vs. World now? There is ZERO incentive to do them now!
At least give a Key when you complete the map!

I’ve been playing Mesmer, Necromancer, and Engineer the last 2.5 years without Stability; and I’ve never raged quit WvW.
I’ve also been playing WvW without practical use of Confusion for 2 years now. So if you’re looking to complain about losing a key component to your class, expect no sympathy from Mesmers.

That’s still how it’s going to be. Small groups are just going to get stunlocked if they encounter a zerg. So the only way to deal with zergs is a bigger zerg.

As coincidence would have it, I did roll a before the patch today. Though just did the first mission and nothing at all happened.

Or coordinate multiple smaller groups to hit the same big zerg from multiple sides. With the change in stability, multiple small groups are going to survive stab stripping better than one big group.

That may be true but then that shows bad commanding. Win the battle , win the war kind of bad.

But you just said that you can’t meele at all. So you don’t have to fear hammer warriors then. I have no love for Anet nor reasons to defend them, but to contradict yourself in two sentences that are almost back to back doesn’t help your case at all.
Please use “You” instead of “U” when typing in the forums.
Stability change? Not a fan. All this does is give more advantages to the bigger group. The group that has more control FX will strip stability faster. It’s not rocket science. I guess it’s just that ANet gets off on large groups of players, the bigger the better. The game just gets worse every time there’s an update.
The OP’s commander with 25 stacks of stability was …shortsighted thinking that would be enough after this morning’s changes. These changes were announced ahead of time and it was clear that it would be much easier to remove stability than before. That means folks have to ration it out, instead of stacking it and YOLOing into a fight.
Every time there’s a disruptive update, we get people who are alarmed that the status quo was destroyed. But that’s exactly the intent of such builds: to shake things up.
After each such change, people go back to the drawing board to figure out what works better. A lot of people like such research/testing. Some guilds will figure it out and become the new vanguard for open world WvW fights. Some guilds won’t figure it out or won’t enjoy the new meta and …well, that happens.
After my update, I now here Random NPC voices, no matter where I go on the map. “voices like a charr saying turret is up” etc, all kinds of random NPC lines from different classes. Male and female, and I play a male Norn. Also when I run the desktop shortcut, it now does not run from the installer like it use to. A window pops up and says. “User account control, Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer.” Yes or No. The program is from Arenanet. I did nothing to my PC before this update, and the installer worked before, now this window pop up after.

I’m getting the same bug. My human male ranger is shouting “for great justice” and “I’m bleeding” as well as the other character phrases in both genders and every class. Nothing is triggering it just random Yolo yelling.

Combat is balanced with 90% sPvP in mind.
The new stability change makes much more sense in a
small scale 5v5 encounter.
So because Esports etc etc ,WvW will either adapt or do whatever really.
It doesn’t matter because WvW is not Esports.Then again PvP is not Esports
either but with the new MOBA inspired game mode who knows…

Man but mesmer, engineer and necromancer DON’T FIGHT IN MEELE, at last when it is about clashing with opposite blob. I don’t expect sympathy form papers cos it is buff for them, but it is amazing nerf for meele: guardians and warriors.

Guild will find out how to fight otehr guilds only, cos u can;t make ANY strategy against blob atm. Not with low number of stabillity skills. As i said it is going to make Revenant a meele god since he will have stab with almost every skill The current idea is NA meta, just kite enemy meele and w8 till papers kill each other like TA vs LAG gvg :P I hope that anet put away their sunglasses for wvw and make old system there. But w8, we are wvwers anet don’t care about us

Cos anet care about “good job anet” “nice guys” “I love this update” stuff only Also I’m wvwer so this might be why, anet don’t like wvwers with brains.
I dont know… I’m here less than 2 weeks and I’m not impressed.
This patching seems like it’s being done by some amateurs.
After 22h long download, and milions of errors I got, now I can’t even enter the game. Screen just flickers and music plays in background.
Task manager says .exe is not responding.

So what about all those condition removing skills? Every class has a skill to remove conditions. Why not try those? Why not try Guardian shouts that remove conditions? Why not try actual team work, and layered condition removal?
Melee is still viable, it simply requires team work now, and target priority. Those eles who always sat at the back being useless? Well you should prolly get your ranged folks on them. Hammer warriors got you down? Fear them, root them, knock them back. What works on you, works on them.
WvW builds have always been so focused on damage/movement, and root removal, now folks need to actually think about conditions mattering. Zergs need to look at what is there and have a couple of support folks for condition removal, have a few strong ranged options to knock down their ele’s and necros.
Actual strategy has come into play a bit.

Yeah, when they are blobed up against zerg. I just gave example how fast stabil is going out, expecially for zergs when they are up against lot of ccs form wariors, guards, eles, necros. Blobs have too much ccs to let zergs handle em now.

It will be blob vs blob now More brains? Man, it will be all about range bombing now. Do u even play as meele? – i mean hammer / sword + wh warior here or gs / hammer guardian. To add, papers are happy now cos they might get their stuns work, but if meele don’t strike meele then they will hunt for papers with whole blob of hammers etc

Emmm…Since when stuns are conditions? Also teamwork, yes, we usually had at last 2 guardians in party which had 1. stabil, 2. stabil etc. and then circle again, now u can’t do that cos stabil is going out in no time man. Next thing…ahhh again STUNS AREN’T CONDITIONS u can;t remove em with shouts ;D at last not those without “stun break” stat, but even then u clear 1 stun and then u get next

So WvW will shift to melee attackers and Ranged AOE spam battles… Interestingly enough we had a nice try out.
Showing us 30 ranged can withstand a full map blob now… Just CC’ing them into oblivion. melee comes corruption, then statics, the massive MS by as many ele’s as have it of CD..
Until the map blob pulled back the melees and we wound up in ranged combat, Which was compensated for by focussing using 4 rangers to a single target LR assasination detail covered by 1 WoR guard. LB pew pews focus fired and killed 1 every 6 seconds… artrition battle ensued. interesting build for ranger, soldiers armor zerk other pew pew build with 1500 range spec, choose wether you want more on target or you want piercing arrows…
I love the change, necro’s suffer the least IMHOas they were used to play stability less anyways…

Okay then, i will endeavor to adapt and change to a 50 fps loss and try to have fun. The frame rate is all in my mind!
The problem with the stability changes is certain professionals abilities were balanced around having only one strong stability skill on a long cool down while others were balanced to have a lot of stability skills and/or abilities.
The way they have added stability stacks to certain skills is completely imbalanced. For example the thief elite one only gives 3 stacks, with a massive cool down and its our only stability skill yet warriors get like 4 or 5 skills/abilities on shorter cool downs with some of them giving 5 stacks.

Oh no, there’s even more blobs now because no one can kill them.
See that’s the funny part. People are reading the stability changes and thinking, “Oh there will be less melee train blobbing in WvW now!”
Except what’s really happening is people are going, “Oh look it’s super easy to strip Stability, lets just blob up and spam CCs on the enemy at range and there’s nothing they can do about it now haha…ranged blobbing the new meta!”

You think eles were useless in the old meta and you apparently don’t know the difference between a condition and a control effect. You shouldn’t be lecturing other people on strategy.
So basically as i found at borders, no comms( no1 want to lead at guard or warrior – everyone knwo why) only necros / eles / rangers etc. at maps, around 5-10 meele at all Cos of this change probably a lot of good guards and wariror quit the game or swap to papers, same goes for commanders and WvW will change to another eotm karma train or something like that cos who want to fight a lost fight for 30 mins or longer with this “pirate ship meta”
As someone mentioned, making a lose of max 1 stack for 1 sec or 0,75 sec would balance it. Or just brining old stabil, but with shorter durations. The other option is to make more stack for stabil – but this might be bad also cos u will still lose 25 stacks in 1 sec against map blob.
Even buffing SYG or putting a target limit on lines would help a lot, latter being the best solution in my opinion. (Like when five zerglings touch the line, it disappears etc)
