Would anyone else like black weapons?
The problem with black weapons is that you’re never going to have weapons that are truly black. Gloss Black, however, like it’s made from obsidian or a colored metal? That I can see because you’d at least understand what it looks like and can see the minor details.
We may get sets that are partially black, but never completely black because if you do that it just looks like the mesh is broken. They need a texture to look natural.
There was an Onyx weapon set in GW1, so we may see those return at some point in GW2.
Yeah, like colored metal or obsidian. Sorry I wasn’t more clear. =)
It seems really difficult to find a weapon that really makes me happy in this game. Right now I’m kinda digging Entropy with Heavy apocalypse on my Warrior. But there just isn’t that many combos that look good to me. This is mainly because of the fact that there are so many color schemes to play with for armor and so few color schemes for weapons. Also the fact that a lot of weapons suffer badly from odd sizing and positioning that make otherwise nice weapons look really funky. Wish they’d release a lot more recolors of current weapon models. The colors of the Mistforged weapons are just hideous, I don’t think I’d ever use any of them. like 80% of the weapons I own are brown, white and gold, or some bombastic array of colors that are hard to dye around.
Look at the Ebonhawke cultural weapon seller. The weapons he sells are black with gold trim with a hawk motif.
aren’t Tormented are black weapons?
Tormented are more of a black/purple theme and are terrible looking. How these were ever thought to be one of the awesomest weapons in GW 1 is beyond me. Besides them being pretty hard to obtain, their looks leave a lot to be desired.

In GW1 it is, yes, in GW2 it is not. The tormented weapons had a purple glowing effect “inside” the weapon but in gw2 they decided to put it around which is just ugly.
Same for the voltaic spear that had a beautiful blue glowing effect, in GW2, there is no glowing effect at all.
Concerning the topic, the problem would be solved if they had brought the same system as in GW1, in which you could dye a lot of weapons.
Since April, they seem having decided to get closer to GW1, so maybe they will bring it back.
I have never understood how to make images viewable in my posts, but, here is one that should have been used here, the dyed black Fellblade from GW1.

Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Don’t forget Darksteel Fine and Masterwork weapons or Hardwood Fine and Masterwork. They’re black colored, but they’re standard skins tho…
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
I’d like weapons I can dye.
