…is terrible.

I impulse bought it yesterday since it’s on sale and I had some extra gems burning a hole in my account. (And I never directly buy gold- just doesn’t feel right.) I like having all those event nodes and the skill point in my home instance and I figured this would be a nice little addition- a little extra perk at the start of each game day.

Whoopsie. Caveat emptor. My mistake.

I’m stunned by how worthless it is. Not only does it provide only a tiny amount of cloth each day, it doesn’t even spawn close to the other nodes (at least in the cities I’ve tried it in so far). I’m pretty confident it takes roughly as long to run over to it and use it as it would to just kill a couple extra humanoids for cloth while running in the open world.

So, let this be a lesson to me to do my research first. As for you, hey, don’t make the same dumb mistake as me- it ain’t a bargain on sale. Walk away from that particular bit of home instance bling.

In the human home instance it’s in the central market right by the 3 trees. In the norn one it’s over near the metal mining nodes. I don’t use it enough in the others to have memorized its location there.

eh, the non-event nodes are all a bit pointless, to be honest. there’s nothing on them you can’t get from salvaging a few drops.

cloth node is very out of the way in asura home as well. event ones are very good, ore is close to those, then everything else is far away (cloth being even further than others)

blade shards sometimes drop from watchwork node

It doesn’t even count for achievements like the others.

I only we had cloth racks on the open world…

All basic materials should have nodes.

It does, you just need to go to the appropriate home instance. For Maguuma go to Rata Sum or Grove, for Ascalon go to Black Citadel, etc. Also, make sure you’re collecting the right type of mats, IE not wood when it’s a miner achieve.

It was bad when it first came out, when many complaining about it, it’s not going to get magically better the 2nd time around.

Other than the Light Flamekissed and the Silver Salvage Kit, Gem Shop items don’t change.

[…]
It does, […]

It does not. Because there’s no daily for cloth. Only harvesting, lumbering and mining. And so only the nodes that count as any of those count for daily whether they are in the home instance or not.

Not all of the items are that great, but at least a lot of the items are on sale on the gem store right now. I have been utilizing clever ways to convert skillpoints to gold to generate additional gems.

Yeah, that’s what I mean by not doing my research- I impulse bought instead of searching around and trying to see what people thought of it.

Shame on me- just the rest of ya’ll, don’t be like me. Buy something more useful. Like a mini Scruffy.

Well, to be fair, it is sort of odd that nobody in the world actually makes cloth, right?

Every bit of cloth in the game is apparently recycled from the salvaged remains of other cloth items. Nobody actually weaves anything. It’s like a zombie apocalypse in Tyria.

flax (for linen), cotton, silk (maybe in cantha? lol) and other fabrics should have a harvestable node and those fibres could be turned into scraps followed by bolts :P

Yes, I bought it too. Not the best choice ever. But, eventually, it’ll pay for itself. Maybe in a few years. . . .

All the non-special/T6 nodes (so not candy corn, crystal or ancient wood for example) should be once per character per day – it would actually make them worth buying lol.

I glad it was on sale as I would have never bought it otherwise. It does help for my ascended crafting as I never am able to get enough cloth without the recent snowflake to gifts trick and this. I can’t get low level cloth easily anymore as I have no low levels I only get lv 80 gear.

And I don’t like to bother going back to old areas where the chance is small to get low level stuff to drop or even going through enemy loot bags.

Guaranteed is better than nothing!
