I’m on Blackgate, and have literally been waiting for the last month for our turn to be red for map completion. However it hasn’t happened and likely wont happen I hear because of our high score. I don’t want to transfer because this server is always full and then I wont be able to return and wvw with my friends. Other people are in the same situation. I’ve had friends pay other friends money to forge their legendaries for them using their own exploration gifts simply because they cant get their wvw mapping done.

My solution? Remove mapping requirement for WvW and add it to new places like Southsun cove to compensate.

In theory that’s true, but you need to at least be able to access the area. For the vast majority of things there’s a good chance that sooner or later your server will take the location (or at least break in) and you can get it then. But that’s not always the case.

For example I got stuck on WvW map completion for a few weeks because I needed a vista and PoI that are inside the red keep in Eternal Battlegrounds. I don’t know how it works on the NA servers but no one on EU seems to bother even attacking the enemy keeps because it’s just not worth the time and effort. It’s usually easier to take Stonemist and you get more points for doing so.

Luckily I hadn’t left WvW map completion to the end so it wasn’t really a problem for me. I just went back to doing PvE maps and waited until we did go red. Which happened for the first time about 8 weeks after I first started.

OP: a month isn’t very long in WvW terms, that’s only 4 match ups. Even the top servers do get red every so often, it’s just less likely. Just do other things and keep checking once a week or so.

You know, you’re actually one of the people I least expected to post something like this, but you should check in more often – Blackgate does conquer the entire red BL frequently.

Glad I wasn’t the only one that had to re-read this . Still thinking it was made in jest though lol. Otherwise it’s that awkward moment where out covered and outmanned servers get exploration gifts sooner….

I’ve been watching that vista within the Red EB spawn keep like a hawk the past couple weeks to no success. I have had this open in my browser permanently as well. http://mos.millenium.org/na/matchups/map/1308

It’s one of the ones I am missing.

Despite this, no one should have to wait x amount of time for an area to open up to map it. I don’t think it’s ridiculous to suggest that the mapping be moved to another area that is not reliant on what happens in WvW.
