There is this 1 certain troll commander in Gunnars Hold, Eternal battlegrounds map who has caused lots of trouble for the past month (and still is going at it) to the entire server.
He pretty much drains entire supplies from keep or towers and wastes them on building rams at random locations which serve absolutely no purpose rather then just trolling.

As far as i know he has gained atleast hundreds of reports and absolutely no action has been made against him. If im even correct then someone has even video taped him and sent it to anet to which he got a reply saying “thats legit” or something like that in similar context.

Anet please tell me what is your policy in this subject and what are we suppose to do if this kind of behaviour is allowed?

Edit:

He isnt taging up so he would get people to follow him. He is doing it strictly so he could get attention.

He interrupts every upgrade by draining everything from keep or from towers. He destroys siege golems by jumping down with them from somewhere high. He also keeps the supplie count close to zero so we wouldnt be able to protect our keep or towers.

I have only heared rumours about him being video taped and the video being sent to anet where the response wasnt what the filmer had excpected. Thats why i want a response from someone whose working for anet. Thats why i also wrote “If im correct..” hinting to im not sure about this issue.

If someone sent a report and got back a reply, then you have your answer. You aren’t going to get a different answer from asking somewhere else.

Technically speaking, he isn’t breaking the rules. The game can’t punish someone for building something on spot A instead of spot B. It also can’t punish someone for taking supply.

All you can do is make suggestions on the forum about changes to the rules. Possibly changes about how much supply one person can take or how many structures one person can build over a designated period of time.

Agree with Astral, the player is not breaking any rules. That player prefers to grief, there are loads of players that do. Nothing you can really do about it except wait for them to leave or learn to beat them at their game. ie have a large group or zerg escort dolyaks and drain the supplies yourself.

Why escorting yaks? He can’t kill them and the yaks are delivering supply into towers/keeps which he then drains, so even with escorting he will get his hands on the supply.
Draining supply before he could do it is also useless as the supply is needed to upgrade and to defend if the objective is attacked – it doesn’t matter who drains it, it’s still gone and not availlable when needed. Happens to us a lot when people think that spending 1200 supply on “Increase Guard Level” while the keep is being attacked is a really good idea – we usually lose the keep because of that.

The official policy appear to be protective of anyone with multiple accounts that make transfers to new opposition servers on WvW resets.

Just think of this as an source of revenue.

In fact, they would be happy if every player has 3 accounts and makes transfer every week.

You need to have another commander on at the same time and everyone following only that one. Commander Grief cannot do much harm alone.

Oh he can. Being from GH I know which commander OP means. Commander creates rams in keep wasting every supply so WP cant be finished. Destroys omegas using fall damage, harassing other players etc.

He completely ruins the fun for the entire server, making us loose our keep because we dont have any supply left to defend. Anet shouldnt protect one guy even though he isnt breaking the rules, anet should think about keeping our server happy.

Besides hes not doing this the past month but since release.

I’m not defending this guy, but are you suggesting that ANet single out a customer to punish who is not breaking any rules? I’m not a lawyer but that sounds illegal and a lawsuit in the making if they did that.

He’s clearly greifing other players which is more than enough grounds to punish him. And the EULA means they can do pretty much anything they want. It’s amazing how no one ever reads it.

I do think it’s not legal either. They should however change their rules of conduct and add a grieving option to the report selection. I think the stuff the commander does is unacceptable, especially doing it for almost 2 years without any consequences.

Gunnars Hold probably isn’t the only server having such troll guys, so anet should really consider changing some stuff in order to report these guys.

If the answer is that EULA allows them to do pretty much anything they want and they haven’t punished the guy then that to me suggests one of two things.

1) they are indifferent to his griefing an entire map over the course of almost two years in spite of multiple reports.
Or
2) that the EULA in this case does not allow them to punish the guy.

Since I doubt they are indifferent to griefing, since it hits their pocketbook when angry customers stop buying from the gem store and also complain about the game to potential purchasers, then I would suspect that the EULA does not allow them to single out one person who is not breaking any rules and punish them.

So how do we know that hes not a saboteur? Think about it. Getting a seperate account, setting up home world to one opposing his main, buys commander tag, and causes havoc and chaos, ensuring that the server in question never wins and making it easier for his to win. Yes theres a rotation, but by actively keeping one server down means that his main doesnt have to worry about the server if/when it comes up again.

Best thing to do would be to let ALL the guild leaders of your server know, and to pass on the info to their people to warn against folllowing him. Perhaps even cross servers so those on opposing servers can target and gank him. (But the might back fire if the other servers are kittens)

While Anet may not be able to act, the players certainly can and make his life miserable.

There are several fundamental questions to be addressed here that haven’t been clarified by ArenaNet:

1. Is sabotage allowed in WvW?
2. Is spying allowed in WvW?
3. Is there or should there be even an honor system in WvW? After all it’s a war zone. So should anything besides exploiting / hacking / botting be allowed?

What if a person buy 24 accounts and set each one in different world and start giving information and act as saboteurs for other worlds for gold? Don’t think of as selling – Think of it as “my guild would reward me 100g” this week for sabotaging world X or spying on world Y. etc. Would such action be allowed?

Would a multi world guilds be allowed to fill in borderlands of world X and just actively dance around the base so world Y going to win?

Is cross worlds alliance allowed so two weaker worlds can team up against the strongest world? Clearly this has been done several times in the past and is “encouraged” by ANET. But is this cheating? How is this any more (or less) honorable than spying and sabotaging?

Is there even an honor system or we are going all out?

They are not going to do any thing about it because the idiot had to buy an account to do it. They make money and you get a pain in the butt. Blackgate did it on TC too.

Would mean anything if it was a sub game.

Technically what he is does seem to be against Rules of Conduct

While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.

It seems clear, that he is not acting in good faith, as he is actively trying to hinder his own side. Not sure why Anet would say it is legal, when their own rules say it is not.

(and yes, they did say that match manipulation clause is valid for WvW as well, not only for sPvP)

Actions, not words.

Hi everyone,

Discussions of in-game abuse, hacking, exploiting, and the like are not allowed on the forums. If you feel a player is abusive in-game, please report them using the in-game ticketing system so our Customer Support team can properly investigate the issue and take any appropriate action.

Thank you for your understanding.
