Y mesmer's weapon so limit?
Mostly this is because mesmers, as opposed to other classes somewhat.. are extremely trait reliant to make our weapons viable.
Sword – T1 trait to lower Cool downs and increase precision
Torch – T2 trait to lower Cool Downs and remove conditions
GS – T2 trait shared with Torch to lower Cool Downs and increase damage
Staff – T2 trait to Lower Cool Downs and increase toughness
Focus – T2 trait to lower cool downs and add reflects
Scepter – T2 trait shared with Focus to Lower cool downs and increase Condition damage.
See the pattern? Our weapons are plagued from level 1 by longer cool downs on all skills, the traits to reduce these and make them far more effective are scattered across our trait lines or even shared in single trait lines.
Often times mesmers must select what they want to do (condition, dmg, support) and then trait for the most important traits. after that’s done the most viable weapons for that build generally are the ones in the lines you’re already heavily invested in. Squashing the other options even if they would preform better, given that you had the traits to invest to give them the boost they needed…

I’m doing it wrong. I never use traits to lower cd’s on weapon skills =(
Utilities though, have no problem doing that…but mostly use a trait like that for the secondary effect. Half the time I opt to not use point blank damage increase traits because they don’t have a secondary effect that I want.
^—- I must be doing it wrong too, I rarely trait for the weapon cooldown things. The one exception to this is the focus trait, I love the reflects!
Jun, you mention a necro using axe/focus as a viable (not optimal) set up… How is that any different then a Mesmer using scepter/torch for a zerker build; it’s possible, not optimal. Also staff was (probably still is) extremely viable as a berserker shatter build.
My necro go for condition build, but not full. Armor use power, vItality and condition. Not only got 1.6k condition damage. But also got 2.8k attack damage. And 25k health.
But i try scepter on my zerker Mesmer. It doesn’t take much dps.
The reason I want scepter for zerker is I want to craft Meteorlogicus. I already got sunrise and bolt for her. There is no way. I change her to condition.
Is there any build can use these 3 weapon at once?
My ele only has Staff, Dagger, Focus and Scepter. Even if I want to equip her with all the legendaries possible, she can only use those 4. And condi build is even not viable for ele. I’m jelly much

The only real thing scepter would have to offer is lots of clones for shattering. Just stick the bolt in your off hand and you are good to go…
Also why would sword/GS not work for conditions? Sharper image works decently with GS (especially if you take the roll clones) Sword off wouldn’t be terrible either.
