Hi guys, my friend recently got the game and he wants to go on the Yak’s Bend server but it is currently full. He has tried multiple times but still can’t get in.

Do you guys have any methods to get into a full server?

I have no methods to get into a full server except keep trying. Unless you guys want to WvWvW together there’s no reason to be on the same server.

Thank you! Yes, that is the problem. We do want to WvW together as he wants to have the full experience. Any ideas on when to try?

Since the method of determining when a server is full has changed, your friend won’t be able to join a Full Server for some time; it could be weeks or months.

Server status is now based on WvW activity. You might consider transferring to a non-Full server if you want to play WvW with your friend.

To expand on this, the current method of determining population looks at WvW activity over the past weeks and months. That means it won’t change from hour to hour, day to day, and probably not week to week. That means “full” servers are going to remain full for a really long time — until/unless ANet does something to add capacity (without adding skill lag) or introduces incentives for folks to leave popular servers.

(The old system looked a short term population, so it was common for full servers to have a spot or two under various circumstances. The new system doesn’t allow for it. On the one hand, it’s good that the system is more fair. On the other, it’s a shame that there’s no way to join friends in WvW who happen to have attached themselves to popular worlds.)

Arenanet is so ahead of politics. To stop midnight immigrants, they put a big wall round Yaks bend and some other servers. (I wonder how Colin looks as a blondy)

I have no idea why people would want to join Yaks Bend. I mean there are people running around with the “yak slapper” title after all, that would just be embarrassing being on Yaks Bend…..
