OP is right, no dungeons/fractals (and for those who don’t like WvW none of that either).

First monthly that does a decent job of letting you “play your way”, the only thing I would say is, they should make it like the dailies and give you the choice to pick 4 from 7 or so options each month, so it will always be “play your way”.

I agree with the OP! Glad there’s no dungeons this time. haha.

At the end of the day i think “everyone” shouldn’t have much trouble finishing all of them. in the 1 month we have

Heck .. a few run of the Fractal would have the kill veterans tab completed.

40 Intricate Jewels (Filigree+gemstone). Dirt cheap, only needs 50 JC (though it would be cheaper if you used Silver, which will need 100, instead of Copper).

Add me to the list of people who would prefer a similar system to the new dilay one be added to monthlies, it’d make them abit more fun and allow us to variate what we work on based on likelyhood of completion(since some people dont have alot of time or seem to leave the monthly abit late for whatever reason), this one is a kitten easy monthly though considering veteran slayer will pop up alot in the daily list over the month as will events.

that’s it?D i don’t mind that at all. lol. tbh, none of the monthlies were really that bad. just glad id on’t HAVE to do fractals. heh.

though for those who don’t have any crafting (sure it’s easy), i guess it’s a little meh. as well. choices for monthly would be great as well. but i can see why they’re keeping monthly’s a standard set for all.

I really do like this monthly compared to others but I was lucky and FINISHED the last monthly leaving dungeons to the very last minute. But, as with many here it I would appreciate it if it was like the new dailies where you can choose to do an amount from a larger set.

For 30silver I got the 40 crafting, and I’ve paid much to be honest.

I always thought the dungeon/fractal requirement was easy anyway. It was the cursed salvaging that always stopped me.

I am very happy that there is finally a monthly without dungeons or fractals that I can complete. BUT, they are still requiring us to do ALL four of the requirements instead of allowing us to choose from a larger list. This is very disappointing considering when the patch went live there was a notice IN-GAME that you could choose a subset from the list of daily or MONTHLY activities. It specifically said you’d be able to choose from the monthlies yet here we are at the reset and it is not allowing us to choose.

So yes, this month is all well and good and I’m happy about it but I expect next month to be more of the same dungeon thing, which means it will be yet another month I don’t complete.

Feast recipes are masterwork.

Excellent. Seems like they listened to feedback, assuming its not completely random. No forced dungeons. Kudos to the dev team on this one then.

Interesting, I like it. So if when there’s a daily that requires crafting (assuming they continue to show up) can I just craft Masterworks and have them count for both? XD

got the 100 vets done in my first fractal run….o wait.

The Hylek Cave in Celadon swamp (use the boulder on the gong to open the door) is great for the Veterans. Fast respawn, groups of 2+3. Bring your friends.

As long as we don’t have to salvage 500 items again I’m glad.

Awesome. I do hope we get choices soon, but this month is fine for me.

I thought we were gonna have choices (do 5/9) for this month, like the dailies? Or is it not happening?

5 dungons was NEVER alot OR difficult CoF p1 could be compleated in 15 mintues naked how could that be a problem to anyone?

fotm is the most dynamic and different workings of content in gw2 even if you dont like the level system you could do level 1 for ever and still get good loot par asscended

WvW this one i slightly agree was more of a problem for people but how WvW runs theres nothing to have a problem with you could build 1 seige equiptment to defend a keep/camp and get easy 10 kills in space of an hour longest if bad choice in placement.

now people complain about crafting?! 40 masterwork items in almost all crafts will cost you 5-10s if you do low level ones… you never have to advance them past 75

10 dungons
advance 2 crafting professions past the level boundrys or craft 2 different level 400 items
5 fotm different levels or open 5 dayly chests
assist in catpure or defend 30 points in WvW

NOW THAT is something i want to see in monthlys and i would still find no issues finnishing within first week

people like this are the ones that get games dumbed down for them for mordern “casual gamer” age

The entire game is optional.

And many people are just pointing out that we were promised choices like the dailies, but for some reason this hasn’t been implemented. It’s a legit complaint. Give choices. That should resolve most of the complaints. Not all of course, but most.

I think everyone would like to see certain monthly achievements in the game that they like, thats why I thought you could pick like in the dailies.

I dont do dungeons I would like loads of WvW stuff in but I can understand why people would complain about it.

I don’t get it. If I go running 3 times a week for an hour, people think I’m hardcore. If I play a videogame for 2 hours a day, 7/7, you would consider me casual.

Re-align your priorities. If a game has daily/monthly objectives, they should be completed in the time span of a TV show (40 minutes max, 5 days in 7). Most people don’t have the time to dedicate more than that to any particular hobby, be it GW2, reading books or watching Prison Break. I consider this game to be a relaxing thing after my work hours, not a second job.

If that’s “dumbing down” in your book, I’m proud to be a dumb gamer and a smart husband/father/employee.

While I agree that the pick x out of y system should be extended to the monthly, the crafting task takes 5 minutes tops even if you have no tradeskills on any of your characters yet.

Why am i brutally forced to craft in order to finish a monthly? Other monthlies were much easier then this or less stressful, boring, useless however u want to call it.

Ppl who complain about wvw..it takes literally by watch 20 min, following a zerg in wvw at the reset day, to fully finish the monthly kills. It’s much more fun and rewarding then throwing silver on things u trash out after. I would gladly use that wasted silver on repairs in wvw, considering i actually do the last fun thing this game actually offers and that’s mass pvp.

Whine more, you’re not “brutally forced” to do anything. WvW might not be a problem for you or others, it is for some. Their argument is as (in)valid as yours for the crafting thing. And fyi, crafting your monthly takes about 5 mins and less than 5 silver even if you never crafted anything before. Crafting is still part of the game as much as anything else. Now either man up or stop playing, complaining about “being brutally forced” to do something ain’t gonna make your (or my) game more fun.

And because of some u change for all? And yes i specified there if i want to do the monthly i am ideed brutally forced to do something completely useless. Is it that hard to implement multiple options like for the daily? It’s the exact same code just a copy paste and change 2-3 numbers for the target goal and the duration. Anyone who dares even come up with “well u don’t know how coding works” is out of his league by miles.

How about u wvw carebares who have been QQing about it man up and actually do useful things? Or does that “man up” work only when something is in your personal favor.

As for your “5 silver to complete crafting” please enlighten me step by step if i have 0 crafting lvled up (because really NOTHING useful can be found there, that can’t be found literally anywhere else in the world) how i achieve that. Even if i had lvl on crafting why should i be forced to use silver and crafting materials i might be holding up for something else? What’s next? “Buy X amount of gems to complete monthly” ? Sounds easy considering it’s just gold for gems right? Shouldn’t bother to many carebears.

Yeah I was kinda stoked to see it. I actually managed to get the 100 vet kills last night in Orr with the new changes (so many vets now), have no idea if champs counted, doubt it.

The crafting was a little lame (mostly cause I didn’t read it required masterwork+ at first :P). But it actually forced me to use the mats I was hoarding and finish some rare recipes I hadn’t discovered yet so I can’t complain. And the events made back the money I wasted on buying string.

But yeah, I was also hoping we’d see the pick what you want for monthlies too. Maybe we will at some point. People are always going to disagree on these. Only way to please everyone is make it a pick what you want thing.

Thanks Anet for the March monthly, I will now get my 2nd monthly achievement award and I have had the game since release…would have liked to get the others but there was always something on the list that blocked me from doing it…

Also, can you please extend the pick your dailys, to pick your monthlys at some point in the future, a choce of 4/7 would be cool…
