I was really bored by the week 1 announcements, and the week 2 announcements were super lackluster, I was really beginning to despair that we might not be getting any changes worth caring about out of this September feature patch, but finally they’re making some big substantive improvements to the game! I mean, I don’t PvP, so I almost never have an opportunity to actually use Finishers anyways, but moving the finishers from the hero tab to a different portion of the hero tab?! Squee! :\

lol maybe I’m just being a pessimist, but what will that change?

Anyway are you guys just being sarcastic?

I would consider new skills as new features but this is just UI cosmetic that will have zero impact on the gameplay.

Yeah, the sarcasm is heavy here. Honestly if they gave mini’s the small change of staying out even with death or map change, then why not add a randomize check-box for finishers?

Well think about it, before, if you wanted to mess with your finishers, you had to hit H, and go aaaaaaaaall the way down to the bottom of the list to finishers, but now you can just click on the first tab, and then click to close the equipment tab that you probably have up most of the time because it’s the most important one, and then click Finishers at the bottom of that list, and you have instant access to the finishers that you used to have to click the bottom of the hero panel list to reach! It’s a 9000% improvement and makes the September Feature patch easily worth the two year wait!

That could at least be considered as a feature. You could select a few finishers you prefer and click randomize

I chuckled at this part of the blog. Considering my guildie just asked me last night if there was any way to preview finishers in the game, this should make her happy.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Make finishers a random occurrence that comes up after defeating every 10th/20th humanoid (?) in PvE without actually having to stomp – then it might be interesting – for anyone who does not PvP.

Just an idea. Other than that having a preview option is always a plus.

“Whose Kitten is this?” – “It’s a Charr baby.”
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

Meh, maybe moving Finishers to the Wardrobe section was the least admirable thing they’ve done…but really this was actually a really neat update.

You can preview finishers.

You can preview minis.

And…drumroll please…you can actually account unlock your miniatures! That’s great news for miniature collectors, really, because it really sucked kitten nobody ever wanted minis because it would’ve been a waste of an inventory slot. Not anymore! I for one will always be followed by a mini candy corn elemental. I might collect other minis too now that they won’t just be rotting in my bank.

Yeah, it was sarcasm about moving the finishers in the Hero panel. Other than though, it was a nice update.

Well I have to say that barring any unforeseen bad sides to this particular update, I’m liking it. Previewing finishers (not on youtube) is a plus. Having added minis and finishers in your wallet is a great idea. Also, I didn’t miss the tidbit about the fact that minis will stay with you regardless of whether you move maps, which I think is the one update that might make me want to start collecting minis. I never saw this as a thing before due to that one MAJOR flaw/inconvenience.

So, for the time being, I give this part of the patch a big thumbs up. I’m hoping there’s more though…. O-o

You realize that you destroy the mini to put in the wardrobe? Not a big deal for the account bound ones, but if you have a few that you like to use, but may want to sell eventually – takes up bank space…..

I heard that tomorrow theyre offering a feature to directly link your bank account to your hero tab so you never even have to leave it to buy gems. Brilliant!

Sooooo, you can use them and then sell them after? Forgive my ignorance, as I’ve never used a mini. Seems like most things in this game become account bound or soul bound on use, so I assumed that if you use a mini, it is at least account bound and therefore cannot be sold. Is that wrong?

However, if you’re just talking about minis you have not used yet, but are not sure if you want to keep or sell, then yes, I agree they would take up bank space. Still, how many minis do most people have sitting there because they’re indecisive?

Well then consider yourself lucky, there is absolutely nothing interesting in it for me.
I don’t do PVP as I have a total lack of competitiveness, skills or ego for it. WvW I enjoyed some of it but I was there for map completion and to me it is too much like PVP. And the 3rd week, well who gives a Skritt’s butt? Minis and finishers both of which I don’t collect. All that’s left is the game itself is there anything for it in the 3 weeks? I thought so. Now let’s go back to the lame pretense waste of time that is season 2 until we really get something interesting and worth waiting for, you guested it, the expansion.

I’m just hoping they get this “sprucing up the UI” out of their system and deliver on precursor crafting, housing and anything else we have been asking for since the last CDI.
