Is there anyway that we could an option in the inventory to remove the pop up box when trying to salvage rares. It takes an exorbitant amount of time to salvage any amount of rares between clicking 3 times per rare and moving the mouse back and forth to the salvage kit. For anyone else annoyed with this a temporary work around I’ve found is to type “rare” into my inventory search bar and center the top of my inventory near the center of my screen to minimize travel between clicks. Thanks

Yes pls. I don’t know that I would want to permanently stop the warnings, but something would be nice. Does alt+click do anything on salvage kits? It would be nice if you could maybe alt+click a kit to suppress warning dialogs until you stop salvaging.

Yes, please, to some kind of QoL improvement on this.
Bonus points on having a Salvage Kit slot in our inventory and a Salvage All set of buttons.

A “Salvage All Trophies” button under the Fine Salvage Kit (or Silver Fed or whatever your kit of choice is) would burn through all the salvageable trophies in your inventory, deduct the appropriate kits, and bam, hand-saving functionality.
Similar options for “Salvage All Fine” or “Salvage All Masterwork” for all items not in invisible bags.

Many alts; handle it!

It was worse when it asked that about greens as well. I don’t mind it doing it on yellows, I seldom have more than five of those at a time and it’s saved me during mass salvages of SW loot a time or two.

Having a toggle option for it would be lovely, though. Then one could line up all the rares, make sure to sell the valuable ones, toggle on the “No Warnings Needed” and go to town.

lol this reminds me of warning pop ups before missions in GW1. Are you sure? Are you sure you’re sure? You’re positive? Ok then….

Annoying then, mildly entertaining now (to think about).

The problem I see with having some sort of “shut off” for these messages is you just know there is going to be someone that shuts it off “unintentionally”. Then accidentally salvage something that they didn’t want to / intend to but they didn’t get their silly pop up get out of jail free confirmation to warn them. Then they are going to come on here and complain.

I’m not as annoyed by this because i actually use it(im lazy and just click on everything with my weak salvage kit until i get the message, then salvage with mystic kit). Not that that would stop the need to have a button. I get more annoyed by the “are you sure you want to buy this” message you get whne you buy anything worth something (obi shards x10…carapace armor boxes…anything in a large quantity really).

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. With the copper fed and silver fed salvage-o-matics it makes it far easier to mass salvage an inventory full of loot. I can’t count how many times I’ve accidently clicked a rare or exotic when using it.

Yeah it’s an annoyance, but it keeps me from accidently salvaging that rare I was saving for the forge…

Oh I don’t doubt there would be a significant number of people (myself included actually) that would appreciate this tidbit. I’m not sure about it outweighing human stupidity though. After all….we have posts on here already about people complaining about “accidentally” soulbinding items or deleting items, which had warning pop ups (and in some cases you had to actually type the name in the box).

I use that option too, and I still occasionally misclick when I’m cleaning inventory quickly. Sometimes I just don’t hit the boxes squarely, sometimes the color doesn’t register as quickly as I’m clicking. Lot of reasons. So that doesn’t exactly guarantee someone won’t misclick.

THIS OMG THIS. This would fix the issue well enough. It would make me stop long enough to look and see wtf it’s on about, but it wouldn’t make me waste still more time scrolling my inventory back up to get the kit since the random rare is ALWAYS like 12 scroll wheel rotations away from where the errant click was. As I recall, the warning was implemented at player request. Players were accidentally salvaging items that they did not intend to salvage, just as back in the day (GW) you could sell valuable items with a single click. So the devs added a confirmation process to ensure that you do exactly what you intend to do.

I don’t recall seeing a warning for green items, but I don’t mind a bit getting the message in relation to golds. But then, I’m not massively wealthy, either.

It’s always been a bit annoying but it has been particularly annoying this past week after doing rounds of the events in Silverwastes. I generally save all bags and loot until after Vinewrath/pacman because otherwise I’d be busy doing that instead of participating in events It isn’t unusual to have quite a few Rares to go through from than, and when you are opening hundreds of bags it’s even worse.

Streamlining of the system would be helpful with things like this.

i wish i got no rares at all a few more exotics instead

cause salvaging rares is annoying and selling them and having to adjust the price for half of them because you would lose out on 10-30 silver if you just sell on buy order is annoying too

maybe the warning was a player request but now players also request it to be removed

why not just make it an option so players can decide for themselves?

The usefulness of the warning seems to be somewhat dependent on your play style when it comes to inventory management.

Back when I first got my copper-fed, I would just blitz through my inventory with it and salvage all the blues and greens, letting the system warn me with the popup when I happened across a yellow, which I would then skip and use a master kit on.
Now days I organize everything a lot better before I go and salvage, thus all the yellows are in one area of inventory (thus making salvaging the blues a lot smoother so I can forge the greens, etc.).

It’s been a long time since I got that warning window while using the copper-fed, so my system works for me, but even so, it would be nice to have the option to disable the wa5 rrning for when I salvage all the rares (one good 10% to breach to VW run can net 10 rares or so on a good day, and if I skip salvaging them and choose to do more SW cycles, it piles up. Same with doing world boss train. Rares pile up nicely.
Is it a game breaker? of course not. It’s just a QoL request.

I stress though that I’d want an option under the gear menu to disable it and re-enable it. Not complete permanent removal.

I can do mass salvage of 15 – 25 rares at a time, and I have absolutely no problem with the pop-up, nor do I have a problem with the double/triple clicking it takes to salvage items. I understand some people can have issues with RSI, but honestly, if you do some medical research a vast majority of RSI are caused by genetics, and no amount of reducing the repetitive task will help this. Same with saving your mouse, I don’t know what kind of mouse most of you use, but mine has had zero issues, is almost 4 years old and still going strong, after, who knows how many clicks, because I use my mouse to do almost everything(even skills). As Gaile said, the confirmation box was put in at player request, because people were salvaging rares and exotics that they wanted to keep, so it’s a trade off…half a dozen on this side, half a dozen on the other side. There’s always going to be issues like this, because as always, you can’t please everyone…and in this case, I believe the majority(which remember is only 50.1%) would prefer to not have to worry about whether or not they accidently turned off the confirmation box.

The inventory definitely seems a bit clunky at times and more options never hurt anyone (discounting the headaches they give the devs, sorry!)

The salvage kit should go back to salvage mode after rare/exo prompt and maybe the kit itself could have a right click option “Suppress rares warning” so that specific chain of salvages would not prompt you.

I’d also like to have a “Use Stack” under the right click options so we don’t have to click up to 250 times on things like luck, even when it’s been promoted/condensed it’s still a ton of clicking. Bags could have an “Open Stack” that would open bags until your inventory was full (Or maybe one slot less than full).

I also like the idea of being able to “Favorite” items that you want to keep.

I’d like checkbox options where you find the deposit all materials button that let me define what item types are “junk” in my opinion. I could check the “yellow is junk” checkbox for example and I would no longer get warning when trying to salvage them. This junk definition would extend the “sell all junk” button in seller pages as well as could apply to the OP’s Salvage All option.

Of course checking the box for the junk definition would warn the player that “by checking this box you are able to accidentally sell or destroy valuable gear, are you sure?”.

I like the warning. If I’m salvaging loot with my copper fed and I get a popup I know that I almost made a dreadful mistake, even with rarity highlighting on sometimes seeing an item is rare in a mix of blues and greens is not obvious. Normally I sort before salvaging at an NPC since a list with colors is a lot easier to notice that rare in your third bag.

But at times if you are buying and cracking a lot of rares it is a tad annoying. I would support a checkbox if it resets when you close your inventory.

Same here. This would be a good middle ground. It keeps the confirmation to help avoid accidental salvage of a rare, but keeps the salvage kit active for those that intended to salvage the item and want to keep salvaging others.
