This is a serious issue guys…

The gates to Fort Salma are now perminantly closed for exploring?
Why?

They moved the Waypoint outside of Fort Salma and closed off the gates.
Does anybody know why?

Did I miss something? Please because I love exploring and this makes me sad.
I wonder how many places in GW2 are now closed off like this.

It’s because it’s been destroyed as part of the Living Story, but you find that out during the story itself. Rather than have two versions, one for people who have done that chapter and one for people who haven’t, they simply made it look the same from outside and closed it off.

Although one change is visible from outside, a ghost appears on the west wall who IMO is a pretty big spoiler.

Oh and you can get inside, just not through the gates:

Umm, not sure what you want here DreamyAbaddon. Even if he said “You’ll experience it in Story Mission. Something happens”., how is that any different from saying you will see itlater in a story mission? I mean, it’s pretty obvious it will get destroyed in there.

What he is trying to say is how to get into the actual area.

You can get into the area by going to the other gate oppersite from the waypoint and start heading over to the cliffs. Get on top of the cliff and go around to the back wall of the fort and there you go.

(You may need to jump on a few buildings to get there)
