Q:
You give me a 2nd Account for free?
No. The purchase acts as an upgrade to HoT on existing accounts. You don’t get a separate serial code for the core game.

To clarify: $50 is the price of the expansion. We included the core game as a free bonus to make it easier for new players to get into it.
Heart of Thorns Standard says (includes Guild Wars 2 core game)
I want my free core game or this is false advertising
Turtle’s proposition seems the most “fair”
Kinda BS that I have to pay more for being an existing customer.
if you want to start from zero by all means they give you a second account ,
if you want to continue with your existing account bonuses then you upgrade with the expansion.
its simple as that and i dont know why so many people dont get it
Most likely you will have a choice to create a new account that has the HoT expansion tied to it.
Or you can apply the HoT expansion to an existing account.
New player buys HoT and gets a GW2 core game for free.
I buy HoT and dont get a GW2 core game for free even though they advertised that I do.
What I want:
I buy HoT and apply it to my account. I also get a GW2 core game for free, on which my brother can play. Once he gets into GW2 and loves it, he buys HoT and gets a free GW2 core game, which he gives to our sister, and so on. This would work, this would get my brother and sister into GW2 as well. Why is it not this way?

It’s not much to get: Anet is shafting us.
Pay once. Play forever. No paid expansions. …bullkitten.
We don’t want anyone to feel like they have to buy the expansion… Bullkitten.
Idk. Seems to me that A net is putting the money where their mouth is (a mouth full of foot might I add). Currently HoT is worth $50-100
Core game is worth $0
Think they’ll pay any attention to the core game and it’s players? No. Focus will be entirely on HoT. People who don’t upgrade will face significantly more difficulties, balance issues, not see any more living world. The parts of the game they have access to will become broken in one fashion or another. You basically have to upgrade now.
Until a net ascribes a value to the core game, (who’s SKU doesn’t even exist anymore) I cannot believe they …well …value it, or its players.
