They also reverted Orr to annoying. Farming is much more work (I think they call this ‘interesting’) as you have to deal with numerous champs that still drop what they’ve always dropped—nothing of any value. The only difference is you could largely avoid them before and now they are in your face. Hell, they could have just added the name change contract and many would have called it a good patch. The real headscratcher is that the game started out awesome (new game problems notwithstanding) and seems to get worse with each patch. They broke my Foefires Essence this patch as well. I suppose this is what you can expect with a monthly release cycle. How any developer thought that was a good idea with a sprawling MMO codebase is beyond me.

The endless string of broken updates from ArenaNET hints that they have no test server or even a test environment.

They finally fixed the cabbage patch in the Harathi Hinterlands which has been inaccessible since launch. A developer at first commented in a post that they couldn’t reproduce the problem in their test environment. As a developer myself, the clear takeaway is that they don’t have a properly designed test environment that is running production code.
I have to agree 13 people left our guild today because of 2 things
1) Guild missions
2) Nerf to bosses chests ( better loot who cares half the fun was the chase)
So right now i am on the fence to leave or stay will wait to make up my mind, but you guys have to really think things thru before you just do it.

Pretty much. We quit and we all were discussing in mumble how much of a good feeling it was.
You might not realize it, but when you quit an mmo and you feel free, its probably better to move to other things anyway.
The massive amount of nerfs to warrior survivability (which didn’t exist, but we had food at least), inability to balance pvp (when all they do is balance around pvp anyway) and overall build diversity in the game is telling as to how large the disconnect between the actual game and their philosophy is. When its impossible to get a dungeon group that doesn’t want to skip most of the content.. and uses spy kits and skips to get past content. The content wasn’t fun.. so.. theres a core problem in the game there. Grinding got out of hand with the laurel gating, really it was a problem before that. The fact people care so much about dungeon completion time is telling.
How many red flags did we need? Its a little horrific to realize how far we let things go on before quitting. Really.. – think- about it. I hope that helps. I don’t know how to explain it better.
You don’t have to deal with this, ok? You are a human being with many possibilities and you could spend your time doing something that actually makes you happy, not giving you a short term sense of fulfillment. It will be ok.
Every update since launch is 90% garbage. The 90% garbage isn’t worth the 10% of progress.
One step forward, two steps back. Its been this way since BWE. New missions aren’t going to change anything. Especially when they make smaller guilds utterly incapable of doing the new content with any reasonable success.
So we quit. 30 + 50 quit. 80 people. Gone. Its a good feeling, you don’t have to worry anymore about the game balance or whether your gear you bought is worthless now or.. anything. You won’t have to read their shoddy patch notes ever again.
Its really, really hard to explain but its just a feeling of freedom. I understand people who made WoW quitting videos now. All of our people who quit agreed..
This should’ve been your attitude from the start. But oh well. Unless you all deleted your toons and items and stuff, I reckon there’s always a chance for you to come back. And no sub fee so if you ever felt nostalgic 2-3 years down the road, the… road is still open. (that was terrible :| hahaha)
At least they didn’t nurf fractal’s yet! Hazzah!
nerf bosses chests?
i run the maw and tequatl and both gave me 1 and 2 rare respectively

AC story was hell. The troll was way tougher than any of the bosses. I guess ANet just listens to the people who dungeon all day/every day. Too bad they require other players to do dungeons to get the monthly.

“it doesn’t make you spend hours preparing to have fun, rather than having fun”
Guild missions say otherwise.

Not like that, they apparently made all those chests once per day only (and claim to have improved drops from them but we all know how good their word on that sort of thing is).
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
Go outside, get some air, then come back, it’s all going to be fine……jeez.
Ok I get it this is the straw that broke your camels back and so you have rage quit gw2, great so send me your gw2 account so that I can give it to other less fortunate people who want to play but can’t afford the 60$ tag.
