The recent patch is not that big of a deal guys…

Farm 2 paths instead. One will of course be shorter, but you’ll still get your reward.

Here’s what people thought of GW1 when it first came out: http://tinyurl.com/bntcvyc
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”

They more said that PvE is not viable means of anything, they ruined dungeons, there is not reward for risk, they want you to WvW but they won’t detract anyone who already got ahead of the curve in gear so you get smashed by fully exotic’d players in WvW,

I’ve been in a dungeon once, and yet almost every piece of gear on my main is Exotic. You can make money, and get karmas, in this game without chain-grinding dungeons.

What’s sad is that folks are chain-grinding stuff, and THEN complaining that there is no endgame. SLOW DOWN! :3

Is makes me wish for vanilla wow…

Not the game itself.. It was tbh kitten.
But the attitude was great:D You gathered 40 ppl, your guildies (no pugs, but sometimes ppl from your friend guild), and then started to lose money.
Both irl and in-game:D
We were not the best guild, and wiped a lot… We bought potions and read strategies, and planned our every move.
If we just got the boss down 1%-5% we could call it a night and actually be happy!? What no loot and wasted a lot of time and gold on repair, plus on potions.. But that’s how it worked back then.

Then when we downed the boss not everyone could get gear.. If you were lucky you might have the boss drop someting usefull, or just pala gear-__-’
Then came the bidding… Now days ppl would just buy it out.. Back then ppl also look at themselves then the others.. Hmm at guy could improve our progress more if he got it, so I pass… Common attitude in our guild, sure you might discusss wether or not he had another agenda, like hoping for a weapon from the next boss.

Now days ppl actually rage-quit if they don’t get loot… Or complain about not being able to take down a boss in first try. It has become choirs for them more than just social fun and trying to coordinate a group:/

And if you searched for end game, and do not like exploration, not like to get lost in a vivid sotry and world and hate pvp… Then maybe, just maybe, you should have researched some more about GW2 before hyping and buying it, just to make yourself disappointed.
Another thing.. Expect bugs and patches.. Expect bans if you cheating.. Where is the surprise here? Expect a long queue for support since it is a mmo, you are not the only one with the problem.

And again no sub-fee, feel free to stop playing if it makes you mis. And please do not drag other ppl down with your gloomy attitude:)

Kind regards

the game is just 2 weeks old ! and i dont like doing countless of time the same dungeon and no game has stop me yet from playing. Grinding is for korean money monkey and they dont want that in their game. Remember, you can exchange in game money for Gems….. if you can grind 300 gold per day, you be the one that sink the market with priceless items that only grinders will buy and abuse the gems items because you abuse a single dungeon ?

If grinding 1 particuliar dungeon was a way they intentionally devellop to make money, teh dungeon surely have a name like Dungeon of infintie money…

People whine so much for anything, im pretty sure they wake up in the morning whining on their toast because the toaster don’t go fast enought.. and they pay 50$ for that toaster and it should toast faster !!!

Get over it .. its a game go play torchlight or other game you like, we don;t give a crap of what you do in you spare time.

So you’re not playing anymore because Anet decided to take measures so the Skinner’s Box leety-crowd of anxiety-ridden mindless rushers wouldn’t ruin the economy by hyper-inflation?

Good riddance I say. I’m liking Anet more and more every day as the seem to know very well the ‘MMORPG community’ and, in particular, some bad practices that have been excesively tolerated in the post-WoW era.

PD: Your “I quit” suicide note is pathetic by itself, more so in a B2P model.

Guys, guys! Look at this! THIS is how the gov’ment is controlling us!

Think about it, man. I mean, that was one heavy, angry, rebellious post. Had that been aimed at a goverment body…we might have a revolution on our hands. Srs bid-ness. But instead, we have a dude busting blood vessels out in his head over something that really doesn’t matter. THIS is how they keep us in check!

I should probably point out that the reason why ANet didn’t put this on a “PTR,” like many of their other changes, is so that people don’t get a heads up and then all start bumrushing it ASAP. That would be counterproductive to the goal, wouldn’t it? “We’re testing this dungeon to make it harder so that you can’t speed clear it. By the way, don’t you guys speed clear it while we’re testing that on a public realm where you will hear people come back and tell you to speed clear it ASAP before it is nerfed.”

I’m actually happy they took that out without warning. Seeing people jogging around in their full CoF gear made me think they were just opportunistic, and probably way too proud of their “accomplishment.” I’ve run a few explorable modes, I enjoy them for the experience of actually playing them believe it or not, and I actually do get enough money from the end reward and drops to cover any repair bill pretty easily. Not sure what you guys are doing. My money drops just from the dungeon clear were 21 silver. My repair bills were 14s or so. I got a bunch of greens and blues that went off to the vendor, and an Onyx Loadstone which I sold for 90s all in 40 or so minutes, probably less, so I even made a nice little bit of money there.

Most importantly, though, I enjoyed the experience. That really can’t be overstated (even though I did just edit this post because I said “most” and “important” a second time.)

I’m not turning back to the game too, until I find a professional dungeon guild/group. They are now impossible to finish with regular, casual groups.

I’d turn back immediately if they implemented some kind of personal&guilds kind of WvWvW rankings.

So basically a mass majority of you are saying to not reward players for being skilled and knowing what to do to beat a dungeon quicker than “expected” and to punish them?

I assume most of you are incapable of speed running a dungeon efficiently so you’re happy that Anet is punishing everyone else for being able too.

Good job.

P.S. The sales you mates keep mentioning “They already have your 60 dollars so you’re irrelevant” is incorrect as most of the money goes to the publishers (NCSoft) and all the micro transactions are directly funded to the developers (ArenaNet). Therefore the people who actually have the most say for anything are the ones who use the cash shop regularly.

As far as I understand, if you enjoy dungeons you can do them over and over again.

If you were doing dungeons just to farm money or something then are you REALLY ENJOYING DUNGEONS ?

This sort of thing happened in GW1 already. Lots of speed clears of various kinds.

The problem is a combination of things. People find the dungeon that nets the most and costs the least time. Minimum input, maximum output. No surprises there.

So then there is the gems. Why do I bring this up? Because you can trade gems for gold and vice versa and therefore the amount of gold needed to buy gems in game will go up.
Since we have a division between very rich hardcore players and a lot of players that have just enough or are constantly broke, this creates economy issues.

And then there’s the dungeon tokens. The idea to have different tokens for each dungeon is simply a bad idea. It divides people instead of bringing them together. Make tokens the same and limit token rewards to once a day per dungeon and a lot of issues are resolved there. Raise the token rewards and drop the silver/gold reward from explorable mode and I think that will help people to do more different dungeons and worry less about cash rewards.

This last patch was a draconic measure. There was a necessity, I get that, but the usually it’s not the what but the how that is the problem.

Think about this one Anet. It could be a long term issue.

It’s a game forum. The truth is not to be found here.

This is difficult to view as anything other than yet another knee-jerk reaction from an entitled player. If such a minor change leads to you quit, then I’m not sure what to suggest aside from sticking to your words and departing. Making an angry rant thread disguised as feedback helps no one.

Then again, it’s also possible that some people are making these threads to deliberately make things seem worse than they actually are.

I’ve seen on Reddit that they also put an anti-farming system for events, to a point of getting only this kind of reward: http://i47.tinypic.com/2ic331u.jpg
for only walking around in a zone doing popping events.

Of course, you can alternate between path in dungeons, but in PVE it gets harder and punishing for only doing Events.

Such a system is sorely needed, especially since it will discourage players from standing around in the same spot or zone for hours on end doing the same thing over and over again.

A lot more players need to realise it’s pretty easy to make money, gold and karma in this game if they alternate between a handful of activities and locations.

Waypoint costs go up when you level up but you don’t get rewards on the level you need when helping people with lower level events, even though you effective level is adapted to those areas.

So you are discouraged from helping lower level people in lower level areas and encouraged to do the high level stuff. With the new diminishing returns you are also discouraged from repeating those.

You are also not encouraged to do multiple different dungeons because of not needing tokens for gear you don’t like.

It could be just my personal interpretation but somewhere in there, I get the feeling it doesn’t all add up as it should. If you give people lots of stuff to do and then discourage them to do most of it….doesn’t that seem odd?

wasnt it just to stop chain running dungeons to make way too much gold too quickly?

i mean, i dont want hyper inflation in this game.

I will nvr understand OP for these dumb statements.
What gold was being made in speedruns? The gold sucked for time spent. I triple that in orr in the same amount of time. So please. Anet is stingy as kittens with gold. They have more ways taking it out of the economy than bringing it in. Dungeons nvr made a significant amount of gold. EVER! That dog just aint gonna hunt.
