Right before I was about to log off last night I happened to click on the Trait Tab on a character that I have not been playing more than once or twice a week. Imagine my surprise…

All my Traits had been refunded!

Now, I am not talking that they were moved around or something, my entire Trait Tree was empty and I had 70 unused points.

The last T3 Trait Book that I bought was about 3 months ago on my 5th L80, and it was for another character. Anybody know how this might have happened?

Is there some way to(by mistake)reset your traits to 0?

  • Been playing since Beta so not new to the game
  • I have not talked to a Trait Book vendor in months
  • I have not tried to reset my Traits in any way, on any character; that I know of.
  • No One else has access to my account(no kids, spouse wouldn’t even know how to even log into the game, don’t share with friends, and my unique XX character password is considered highly secure)

Now the rhetorical question is…I wonder how long it has been like this? Better go check my other characters when I get a chance.

I suggest others do the same

edited to remove the number of characters in my password

this was reset a couple of patches back when they changed some of the trait trees and some of the traits entirely- if you had points invested in those- you got reset. It took you a long time to notice

They reset entire Trees? Wow, I must have missed that one.

So I have been running my Necro for weeks/months with 0 traits… Man, I must be CRAZY Good!

Has this change effected other classes or is the Super Necros the only ones?

Yeah this happened to me, I realised I’d been playing with no traits for like 2 weeks…wondering why I was quite ineffective.

This happened to me as well. It wasn’t a big deal and I hardly noticed in PvE since there is no challenge or any use for traits and my damage is limited by “technical” problems.

However… PvP was a nightmare. I thought everyone found some secret to make them 10x better while I was making negative progress in my skill.

make sure you check your PvP traits as well.
