Is it really necessary to prevent the guild leader from using his own guild bank, simply because the guild is only 2 days old?

Feel free to play one of the MMOs that don’t have restrictions like this and are overrun with gold sellers. Is it an inconvenience? Yea. Is it still worth it? Also yea.

Doesn’t it take 72 hours to get the first vault, guild stash, up and available? If you start the guild upgrades going as soon as the guild is made then your restrictions should end and the guild stash should be available at the same time. If the guild is only 48 hours old, unless you spent a lot of gold buying influence to speed it up, then you can’t access it anyway, as it’s not there to access.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Yeah, it takes 16 hours to research architecture level 1 and then 32 hours to research level 2. And then it takes 2 days to build the vault itself. You sure spent a lot of gold to get that built that fast, OP.

Funny thing, but I thought that a guild bank required actually gaining enough influence to get it..like, 2.5k Influence. That is a currency that is gained over a few days in a populated guild at bare minimum. But to purchase Influence via gold strictly as a stash sounds fishy, thus the restriction (to prevent gold farmers/sellers, and hackers from making temp stashes to shift merchandise between groups of other ilk accounts).

Well, I got 1k influence when I upgraded my account, and then I got 5k influence (one 1k consumable and one 4k consumable) from getting a second account. So, yeah. Getting the influence to make the vault isn’t hard at all, nor does it take a lot of time.

Well, if he bought a lot of influence or used up influence from consumables, it does sux not being able to access it, however it is only 3 days and it’s a serious hindrance to gold sellers as they can’t make or join a guild and send money back and forth immediately.

…and yeah to those who ask… its not that big of a deal… but I mean what is the purpose of preventing the guild leader from using his own guild bank?

What if the guild leader is a gold seller? This is exactly what these restrictions are about, keeping gold sellers from making guild vaults quickly as and using it to move gold around.

If only one person, ie the guild leader has access to the bank, how would he be moving anything around to anywhere but his own account?

He invites the buyer to the guild and gives them withdrawal permissions.

It’s a matter of closing all loopholes, no matter how cumbersome they are for the gold sellers to use.

One problem gold sellers face is quick termination of their accounts once the game sees them moving large sums of money around. This means they lose all the money that was in their account. If they can make and quickly transfer gold to a guild bank, they can invite other gold selling accounts (of their own business) as well as people buying gold to the bank. If the gold is already in there and they are terminated then the other goldsellers as well as gold buyers have a chance to get the gold once their 3 day restriction is up.

It’s a hindrance to their liquidity. ANet is trying to put barriers around every pathway they can find. It means people like you and me get caught in these restrictions but leaving one loophole open while closing the others means that’s the loophole the gold sellers will use.

1) Make guild
2) Build vault
3) Deposit gold
4) Invite buyer to the guild
5) Make buyer the guild leader
6) Seller leaves the guild

I’m also going to guess there are 2 types of gold selling accounts. One is the “live fast and die young” accounts that spam gold selling messages. Those seem to only live for a day or two. The other type would be the “sleeper” accounts. These hold the gold and do the actual gold selling. It’s these that could use a guild bank to silently transfer gold to gold buyers and other gold sellers. Their lifespan is probably longer than the first type, but once the game sees them moving gold around, then they are terminated fairly quickly. The 3 days limits on making and using guilds and the invited guild members using the guild are all there to hinder them and close any possible pathway without hindering legit players too much.

even so…. it just seems to be a bit excessive for such a little gain.

Do you not think that these goldsellers who would use this method have hundreds of accounts creating guilds every day?

…and that the guilds they started three days ago will have guild banks pop today, and the ones they started two days ago will have guild banks pop tomorrow, the ones they started yesterday will have guild banks pop the day after tomorrow?

It doesn’t really hinder anything. Its over-policing that doesn’t really even fix the problem.

One might say the same thing about buying that amount of influence to speed through a vault so quickly.

Gold seller creates guilds ahead of time, deposits gold for a customer, invites the customer, makes him the leader. That and similar chains have to be delayed till ANet has checked the data, and can delete the bought gold before it got spend.

But I do not understand: If he hasn’t the right to get money from the guild, I think he also has not the right to deposit money in the bank! How does the money come in the guild bank, if it is his guild (created and leaded by himself) and his money?
