So, you go to your favorite restaurant. Lets say, it’s an Italian place. Man, their pizza is soooooooo good. You can not WAIT to get your order in. You’ve been working a lot this last week, it’s finally your day off, and you’re gonna feast like a king.

You get to the restaurant, and go inside. You get seated at the table, and the waiter hands you a menu. “No thanks,” you say. “I already know what I want. Give me the pepperoni pizza, it’s my favorite!” The waiter takes your order and walks away.

15 minutes later, he comes back to your table with a plate full of asian curry. And not even good curry, it’s just kind of gross looking. “Surprise!” he shouts at you. “It’s april first! We know you ordered the pizza, but we aren’t making that today. Everyone is getting curry! It’s funny, right?!” You look down at the bowl, and stand up, sad that you couldn’t have just gotten your pizza, and walk to your car to drive home in silence.

If I can contribute at all to add a disable feature, then I’ll be kitten ed if some random person on the internet saying “quite whining” will stop me. We were mad about it with the bobble heads last year, we’re mad about it again this year. I hope there are 15 more threads about this. Anet needs to listen to their players, not just the ones with “a sense of humor”.

Again, I’ll explain intellectual property rights in a nutshell for you.

You do NOT own Guild Wars 2, not even the client. ANet does, and they merely LICENSE you to play it. If they really wanted to they could revoke that license at any time, and or shut down the game servers, AT ANY TIME. With any or no notice, and for any or no reason whatsoever. Even if you have a physical (disc) copy of the game, you do NOT “own” that, ANet could LEGALLY require you to return and or destroy those.

So your argument of comparing this to a tangible product or service is null and void. Don’t believe me? Still feel entitled? Go contact an attorney, they’ll clue you in…

So are you guys part of the group with a sense of humor, then? I hope one day you try to run your own business. Be sure to tell all of your customers that they are entitled to nothing, and their opinions are not valid or valued. Trust me, it’ll go over well.

So a restaurant that gives me awesome pizzas for a flat fee of $10 that is good for years suddenly gives me something I didn’t expect for 1 day a year?
