Your "Main" Character (Help Deciding)
For me it was just a matter of which one I enjoyed playing most.
I made 4 characters on launch day (ranger, thief, elementalist and engineer) and added a guardian shortly afterwards. I started off playing them all roughly equally but never set myself any rules. I’d just decide who seemed the most fun that day.
After a while my ranger was the obvious favourite. She hit level 40 before any of the others got above 20. So it made sense for her to be the one who got first priority for gear and things, which is all a main character is to me.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I’ve got the same problem as you but on a smaller scale with ascended jewelry (doing dailies is tedious ok).
You’ll never be completely happy after getting your legendary (whichever you choose) because you’ll see an amazing player of another class and be like ‘wow I wish I could do that’.
With that being said the skill cap on thief is the highest. However the most useful is the guardian but they are really easy to play.
I have both a Thief and a Guardian at level 80.
I really wanted the Guardian to be my main guy, because I’ve always liked the holy warrior type of class. But in Guild Wars 2 the class just bores me. It just feels slow, and not much fun to play as.
On the other hand, Thief is now one of my favourite classes. I’ve never been a fan of the sneaky kind of character, but the Thief’s gameplay is just so much fun, I love doing dungeons with my Thief.=P I guess it all comes down to what you want from a class. Personally I love mobility and fast paced gameplay, rather than just standing there and mashing enemies with my greatsword.
