My current happiness levels playing different classes:
Level 80 Thief – 7/10
Level 42 Necromancer – 5/10
Level 36 Engineer – 10/10
Level 12 Guardian – 6/10
Level 4 Ranger – 4/10
they’re liable to change as I progress through levels.

The fact that I have to slow down my game play so I dont run out of content (monetary rewards to pay for ingame tax) is ridiculous.
So instead of continuing what ive been doing, clearing 2 maps at a time, Im doing 1 map a day.

A good PvE game for the soloing player or those with a small group of family/friends, who also like to dabble with PvP on the side. There have been plenty of broken events, though, and I can think of quite a lot of things in the game that I would change — usually things that fly in the face of MMO convention just for the sake of it. There are many ways GW2 innovates that are a step in the right direction, but there are also some ways they tried to reinvent the wheel by making a square wheel rather than improving the tire they put on it.

6 for the game.

10 all the way to Orr.

But; Everything about Orr stinks of grind. Low drops, OP mobs, poor repetative graphics and nonsensicle events. Even the personal story goes to hell.

Grind Wars 2; the game that ate my brain.

Level 80 warrior and level 76 necromancer. Overall 5/10

TLDR: Levels 1-60 was awesome. Most fun I’ve had in a video game yet. 60+ is absolute trash. Necromancer isn’t a class. Its random bits and pieces of code that has somehow managed to congeal itself into a single entity. This code has also become sentient. Its sole purpose for existing is to troll the ever living kitten out of anyone who plays the necromancer class in GW2.

Non-TLDR: The necromancer was my first class, but I will say my two cents on that later. For now, I’m going to focus on the gameplay. Levels 1-60 were amazing. I give this part a well deserved 10/10. I had so much fun with the event chains, heart quests, and the beautiful scenery in these zones that its seriously pains me to say what I’m about to say next.

The 60+ zones are absolutely kittened. They’re so kittened that I honestly cannot believe that the same people that made the 60+ zones were also the same people that made the 1-60 zones. Its just not possible, and I refuse to believe otherwise. The 60+ zones are completely boring and bullkitten in terms of QA. The rush job here is insanely obvious. Gone were the compelling and story driven events. Almost every event I ran into was either bugged or broken in such a way that it was impossible to complete them (many STILL are, especially in Orr). The heart quests suffered the same fate and, providing they even worked, turned into nothing but kill X mob quests. Don’t even get me started on the kittening horsekitten that is the Orrian zones. I just… I don’t wanna lose my temper so I’m just gonna stop talking about it. 60+ zones 1/10.

Now for the necromancer. What a complete disaster of a coding and balancing job. It is painfully obvious Anet had their interns code this class without any supervision what so ever. The week the necromancer was scheduled for QA must have been the week the QA team was all on vacation or something. Or maybe they all called in sick knowing ahead of time what they were in for. I am absolutely appalled how Anet could even call this collection of bugs a “class”, let alone a working class fit for a finished product. It has to be some kind of joke, and I’m almost expecting Anet to suddenly drop a huge patch saying, “We’ve finally decided to add the real necromancer class. What you’ve been playing before was actually just an elaborate troll that kinda got outta hand. Sorry about that!” Apparently the engineer is in the same boat, but I don’t have first hand experience with that class. Really, Anet needs to feel ashamed that they let this game out with a class in such bad shape, let alone two of them.

I am absolutely bored to tears on my level 80 warrior. I hate the way all of the dungeon armor looks and I have no desire to go back to Orr after seeing that broke kitten collection of zones. Thankfully WvW is still interesting for the time being.

Stuff goes here.

Altitis here. This discounts quality of life issues such as the insane scaling of teleport costs and dramatic drop in the number and quality of the zones as you go up in levels. It’s just about how I’m getting on with the class. Some of it is down to imbalances (Elementalist comically underpowered, Mesmer unsuited to freeform PVE gameplay) others just down to personal preferences (Warrior has functional but not exciting utilities, Guardian frontloaded into a few very powerful skills making minute to minute gameplay less interesting to me)

Great class, could use the following:

Traits: little build variety. only 2 good T3s, Zeal is useless.
Shield: too long CDs even traited.
Scepter: too slow orbs.
Shouts: need to have wider radious when traited.

Many others that have already stopped playing because the game is the most non-rewarding socialist utopian mmo on the market wont be around to provide feedback, so there is absolutely nothing statistical that can be gained from the input in this thread, other than surmising that it is input based on folks, that purchased, and who are more appreciative of the game than less.

Im on the cusp on leaving because it isn’t the pvp game hyped, and that player skill isn’t a component of pvp game-play and nor are players rewarded for their game-play and effort to be able to gain an edge based on accomplishments and game-play effort.

62 Elementalist, 9/10. I’m still getting used to being so squishy in PvP.

I am really impressed with the Elementalist class overall. I feel like this is what a real Elementalist should be… a master of all the elements. Rift’s Elementalist soul technically used all the elements but it was a really lame class. I like how in GW2 you have to “attune” to an element and learn which attunement is best for each situation.

And yes, I’m taking it slow. It boggles my mind that I have a character at 50% world completion and almost to the level cap and there’s SO MUCH I still haven’t done yet!

Also some constant bugs lower the rating a bit for me. Like event bugs. There’s always at least 2 or more events per area which are bugged.

Happiness scale... 10/10.

Enjoy exploring most of all. So many things I’ve noticed/seen that just adds to the detail of the world. I LOVE finding paths not meant to be taken.

PvE can get stale occasionally when spawn rates are through the roof, but thankfully not every zone is like that. A lot of freedom when it comes to how and where I choose to level.

PvP... it’s my dream game. No hour long battle vs healers. Most classes can be fought 1v1. Some classes seem OP, but I’m positive that there are ways to counter them. I’m really enjoying the game so far, and look forward to new zones.

Level 80 Ranger
Overall: 8/10
PvE: 9/10
PvP: 8/10
Legendary Bow Skins: 3/10 (sometimes 9/10 when I realise that for a week killing people with rainbows would be AWESOME, then I’d be bored and ashamed)

But yeah overall awesome game, does have some problems of course, what game doesn’t? PvP down states are frustrating (Ranger has 1 ability to stop a stomp and that’s single target where as Thief/Mesmer/Guardian, etc all have at least one ability to do that and has an AoE effect). Also the greatsword on the Ranger, abilities are fine but the damage does feel a bit unjustifiably low, and Longbow could use a very tiny bit of love.

If nothing else no subscription means I will be playing this game on and off for years to come (and plus I love it), and more than happy to wait for fixes.

Need to rework the pet system in this game. Theres only 12 pets to choose from, and only the bear is actually useful. The rest die in one hit so yeah. Theres also no evolution that was promised.

Secondly, they need to add some love to other builds such as an Axe user. 99% of rangers out there are either using a short bow or a long bow with conditional builds. I am the only Ranger/Torch player I have ever seen outside of level 1.
