So I was sitting in fotm 48 for 3hrs+ we were doing quite fine, last boss at 3rd fractal, and this BR or Spanish group (no offence) started chatting on, and before I knew it I was sitting in LA kicked. It was the asura guy and we kept wiping cos the guardian was not able to kite it.
Ive been away for a few days, and wanted to challenge myself with a fotm run… and i run into these idiots. Not even angry, just shocked at how these people can be so rude. Is there a way to report? I know 1 of the guys in the team. Again, not that of a big deal and I should just move on. But really if its possible I would love to get these guys back.

Anyone had any similar experiences? I would like to know how messed up some people can get.

I have to agree with this. It would be nice if people actually followed the code of conduct.

“Please, you can look down on people without having to be physically above them.
As an asura, I do this all the time.”

I realize you didn’t mean to offend, but many players will do the same regardless native language. It’s more about the crummy individual, rather than where he/she came from and/or what his/her background is.

I am sorry for your trouble; the kicking system is too easily exploitable by griefers, quite sadly.

My most unpleasant experience? Those champions and group event bosses that spawn, and camp, right at skill points! You can be the same level as the mobs on that map or even a little higher, but you can’t clear the map without asking other people to come beat this boss with you… and people don’t have much motivation to help, they get bad drops and a chance to get the skill point if they haven’t gotten it yet.

I generally try to help people if I see them asking for help with one of these areas, or really any skill point. But not everyone tries to be as helpful as I try to be, and not everyone likes being forced to ask for the help or wait for hours/days/weeks til the boss is dead when they are logged in and check that spot.

Don’t confuse this with bosses that spawn when you activate the skill challenge, I am perfectly fine with those because they are soloable. :P I’m talking a champion or group event champion/boss that you have to beat before you can even commune at the skill point or activate the skill challenge.

Buying an Ascended amulet for 30 laurels, just to realize I bought the one with wrong stats.

Also, before GW2 betas and all that, I strongly wanted to main a human ele when the game launched. When betas came around I thought i’d roll charr warrior so I wouldn’t spoil the fun for me. As stupid as I am, I went on to main a charr warrior and I regret that now.

Doing the meta event in the Bloodtide Coast to get the achievement and after hours of waiting and figuring out how to get it started, having everyone get the achievement but me and my wife.

We did it a second time and I got the achievement and she didn’t.

Man she was mad.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that.

In another game:

I accidentally sold my first piece of epic gear (part of class set) after my very first raid back before the devs realized that a “buy back” option at the merchant was a good thing.

This game:

Haven’t had any particularly unpleasant experiences in game. Certainly have had a lot of experiences that make me feel good… both helping others and being helped.

Only really bad experience was the day I realized that ANet had started walking down a path I hoped to never see in this game.. but that’s the stuff of 2 or 3 or 5 other threads.

BG: 52 alts, 29 lvl 80’s. They all look good, so I am done with the game: Oct 2014

The tension over loot in PUG raids in WoW, and the risk of being perma-labeled a ninja (in effect having to leave the game) for a simple slip of the finger or misunderstanding of complex norms of who could roll for what when, because loot assignments were irreversible.

I don’t ever want to experience that in a game again.

I think the top three on my list are very close together, but #1 is simply never winning a 1v1 (no NPC’s involved) fight in WvW.

Tonight. Just happened.

20 kills away from the ‘Champion Slayer’ Title, so started solo queuing.

I didn’t win a single game. It put me against premade after premade – and some were ruthless premades too, and I had the same afk player in my team 3 matches in a row.

I got the title, but it feels like dirt after such an awful chain of matches. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever have it up, because it will always remind me of this night.

If I made a list of worst GW2 experiences, I think they’d all be in sPvP.

This has happened to me, playing with English speaking players. I am Spanish-English bilingual. I do not understand why them being/speaking Spanish has anything to do with it. fotm veterans are like kittens. They like it the way they like it. And they will not accept playing it any other way. They do not have patience for players who are learning and do not care about dropping, if that saves them 5 minutes.

The forum just transformed the abbreviation of national socialist into kittens. That is either censorship overkill or wishful thinking.

It has been proven that seeing kittens can calm most people and even make them happy. Therefore, turning all the national socialist into kittens could create a better world.

worst experience was posting a typical game complaint here, no swearing, no names, a generally neutral attitude, about a very common problem many many people have, and on which many people have posted here before.

got banned. sent in a tix asking why i was banned from forums for posting a simple complaint, was told ‘youre not banned from forum’, so went back, sure enough they removed the ban. anet failed to inform me, however, that they had added one disciplinary point to my account. for, according to them, ‘not being banned’.

month or so later got loaded in wvw, some troll started doing what they do best, next thing i know i get a 3 day suspension for language. fine, i understand. i send in a tix asking why i got 3 days instead of the typical 12hrs/1day for first offense; this is where i find out i had the one disciplinary point on my acct already, and now had another added to that for this. they dont send a notice to the person who reports someone for language that there is a language filter on their chat and that anet encourages them to use it (which would save them from dealing with many complaints about that).

so if ive done something wrong, like the language thing, i have absolutely no problem with any type of discipline, in which case id have it coming. but just remember this:

when you get disciplined for any reason, doesnt matter if you actually do anything or not, and even if they withdraw what they did then claim it never happened in the first place like these tools did with me, you will still have that point on your acct. so unless you dont care about the $60+ you spent on this game, keep that in mind.

Never got bored with an MMO faster than GW2. Took 4mos.
